More people than ever have jobs and they are being paid more for it too!

I think your friend needs to look at his CV or the way he puts himself across. What is he applying for? There are literally places you could walk into and get a job pretty much same day.
My brother in law works in one such place.

The problem is it's hard work, it's not massive pay (above minimum wage with some pretty good OT and OT opportunities as they're chronically short staffed), and it's rotating shifts.
Brits tend to apply, last a few days and give up as it's hot, hard work (although apparently it gets easier once you get used to it and learn how to do the work in the most efficient manner).

Not at all. I firmly believe that jobs should be restricted to local people. I mean, just look at London. All these people coming here from outside our city and taking jobs that really only Londoner's should have. They have the nerve to take well paying jobs in London whilst living outside London where it's usually cheaper. That just means local people living in London don't get the jobs yet have to deal with higher living costs.
Dosen't stop people moving out of London into countryside then commuting in, bringing their rudeness and crime to the countryside.

I love these kinds of threads, which exposes the extremist views on both sides that we now have in the UK. From the mildly xenophobic, to the people who seem to be waiting in the wings waiting for the UK to fail, wringing their hands in the thought they can say "I told you so!" on the internet.

Shame, poor Londoners.

Doesn't*

Also, I love bringing my rudeness and crime in to the countryside. Can't beat a day of walking around some beautiful country town abusing everyone and shankin' dem fam.

It's glorious.

OP is clearly a failing troll.

I gif F/10.

I don't think so tbh. I think this is actually his extremely limited outlook on the world and has only recently discovered the internet.

I wouldn't worry, he'll catch up eventually.

Or his bitterness will consume him, whichever.

Exactly my friend. People should just stay where they are born. Londoner's don't want country folk coming to the big city with their simple ways and friendly but annoying attitude. Similarly, I know people in areas like Kent are simply fed up with more and more houses and flats being built for londoners making small towns congested and ugly with increasing crime rates.

These are real issues folks.

Ok I'm out. Started off being a bit sarcastic and now I'm in too deep! I'm a Londoner living in Kent! I'm confused! Help!

Yeah they are usually the jobs which the 'Brits' can't handle or think themselves as being too good for them jobs.

I have no time for people who say they can't get a job, unless they have a genuine reason not to work there is always something somewhere out there or like I said previously the CV needs looking at or the person's attitude needs to change.

Should have kept going, you were bordering on "i'm not sure if this guy is genuine" to "yeah, he's taking the mick"

I started to become one with the sarcasm :(

On a serious note, it's amazing how some people blame the 'outsiders'. Seems like the OP wouldn't mind everyone just sticking to where they're born (so second gen immigrants should be fine...:D).

Wages outstripping inflation!!! Tell me more as I only got 2%

By leaving and getting a new job?

Leaving and getting a new job - that's where the real wage inflation comes from. The wage increase stats are looking at roles and how much they pay, not individuals and how much they earn.
