GPU Recommendation for 43" Super Ultra Wide

Hi,

Firstly, I'm a bit of am amatuer at all this, so go easy on me!

I've just bought a Samsung LC43J890DKUXEN 43.3" screen.... https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/curved-cj890/

....and I need recommendations please for a GPU.

Currently I have a Geforce GTX 960. My PC has a Intel i7-4790K 4Ghz CPU with 16GB Ram on a Gigabyte ga-z97x-sli MB.

After purchasing, I suddenly realised the current GPU may not be up to it (I did say I was an amatuer right!).

Whilst my PC is primarily a business PC for office based applications, I do play games from time to time (eg Elite Dangerous, Unreal Tourament, COD, CS GO) and so I need it to reasonably decent for that. I am in no way looking for a high-end gaming PC however.

The new screen does not have free or G-sync.

So, my question is, will the GTX 960 need replacing?
And if so, what would you recommendation be please?

As I have spent all my cash on the screen, I have little left for a new GPU so price is important and just to reiterate, I'm not looking for a high end gaming PC.

Thank you!

An rx 570 8gb pulse £160 is the bang 4 buck champ. A pulse vega 54 £320 for better performance. But first try it out with your current gpu and see if you're happy with the performance.

Interesting monitor... high resolution - 3840 X 1200 and a decent refresh @ 120Hz - so a little easier to drive than a 3440 x 1440 at the same refresh.

I'd think you'd want something with a bit of grunt to drive it - the Vega 56 sounds like a good shout.

As above though, try it out with your current card and see how you get on with the games you play.

So, the new screen was rec'd today. It's massive! I have it plugged into the GTX960, along with two other monitors. The new 43" is on my sitting desk and two other 'vintage' monitors (23" and 22") are on my separate standing desk. My productivity app's looks excellent (at least compared to what I've used to) and unreal is acceptable. Clearly, I'm not fussy. I'm sure I can make a few tweaks and and disconnect the two old monitors to improve game performance. Everything I have typed so far fits on just one line given the width.

Thanks for the advice anyway. I might consider the models you suggested when I get some more £'s. Cheers
