Nvidia RTX 5 months on-a win or fail?

That's actually a fair and valid comment. The thing is, what makes something 'good', differs from person to person. I bought a 2080ti and think it is good, other people don't. The problem here is that a fair few dont want to accept that their viewpoint is not the one true opinion.

I just don’t get why you think spending £1200 for a crap gpu is good :p

I think I mentioned the price once but I think I got away with it.

Somewhere back in this thread someone mentioned you can’t use DLSS at 1080P with a 2080Ti, I’m curious as to why anyone would want to?

Bought mine exclusively for 4K/60. Why would I want to use it either?

As for RT, tried it in BFV and it looked great. Shame about the rest of the game TBH.

It isn't actually a crap GPU though and is the fastest available and serves me very nicely. The downside is price of course and the feature set isn't there 'yet' but given time, it will be, so will have more appeal.

It’s the fastest available but turn on those features and well...FPS tank....and DLSS is a blurry mess.

And only doable on 2 games...

By the time the feature set is there if it ever gets developed more...then 2080 series will dead tech....so yeah it’s a crap gpu.

It would be a good gpu , if you could use the features have a solid FPS boost and not have a downgrade in image quality while using DLSS without paying nearly double for the privilege coming from the previous gen.

But sadly that’s not the case...factor in failure rates, and the 2080 series is a damp squib

The Radeon 7 is pants aswell...Two years on from a 1080ti and AMD release basically release a 1080ti with huge power draw, heat and noise...

The thing is though, do you actually have one to say that?. .. It's still the fastest consumer GPU on the market, so it's a poor price to perf card but a crap GPU it is not

If prices continue this way I think I'll be done with pc gaming. Take up something cheaper, like masturbating with a razor wire covered gauntlet, which presumably would give me the 2080ti buying experience.

Yes, given time, perhaps the next generation of RTX cards will be much better. I agree with you 100%.

All the features have been hyped by Nvidia and all have fallen flat....and what we basically have is a 30% faster 1080ti for double the cost...

Yep it’s a crap gpu...

Bending over in the shower in prison would give you the 2080ti buying experience :p

Not gonna try and change your mind, as you have had the same mindset since it launched and you bought a 1080Ti (nothing wrong with that). I personally like my Zotac AMP 2080Ti and been playing Anthem all afternoon and sitting 60-80 fps average at 3440x1440 with everything on max and it looks amazing. I couldn't do that with my 1080Ti that I sold to a work mate.

Same here I cannot justify it PC gaming has been ruined by the likes of greedy EA destroying communities with their server policy in battlefield etc
I bought a1080ti when the price of the RTX card was announced, have an Asus Maximus hero mobo with a 4970k really wanted to upgrade the lot until I priced everything up unfortunately if i am still gaming in a couple of years it will be on a console I think PC gaming is pretty much done for now
