Which is best a pack of 4x8gb or 2x16 for ram

makes no real difference
what motherboard and CPU do you have?

4 sticks can lower you overclock potential as it put extra load on the memory controller. but that said unless your pushing for world records it makes no difference

Interesting. Do you mean the overclock of the ram or the cpu? I have the i9 9900k and rog maximus XI formula z390 board

both really, but the main one been the CPU.... BUT that said we are talking 100/200mhz
like i said unless you pushing for world records no real difference. you CPU @5ghz V's 4.85Ghz is nothing

Edit: you could even have a strong memory controller and the clocks be the same,

trident z is by no means high end, but is good solid ram stick with the 4x8 set up until 32GB is no longer of use and you forced to upgrade.

all brands are good the only thing that changes is budget.

this stuff is hot right now...

i am a big fan of team ram, there budget stuff is good and the high end stuff right now is probably the best
the only advice i have when it comes to buying ram is DONT BLOW YOUR LOAD ON RAM, just buy a good kit. the ram i use a Team 2400mhz stuff that i have had from the launch of x99. it cost me £129 and still dose when i need it to.
