Not sure what Gigabyte is doing concerning second-hand cards but second-hand EVGA Nvidia cards are worth keeping eye on because it is official that warranty (from manufacturing date) is transferable, and you can even register the card. However, you either need to ask the seller to find the manufacturing date (using serial number and EVGA website) or go for a card that was released not so long ago. GTX 1070Ti was launched in November 2017 for example. So even if you happen to get one of the very first, you'd still have one and a half years warranty left.

They are the same as other companies with B-grade sold through reseller . If it was purchases as brand new and then sold on with warranty transfer then it's okay . As you've mentioned :)
In most cases, recycled internally with evga .
 
yup.. I believe that if they are warranty returns then Gigabyte will honour the rest of the warranty directly. So even if it was initially purchased when Vega 56 was released(Aug2017) then it "should" have 16-18 months warranty left. Gigabyte are pretty good like that.
 
That is a fair point, and yes Gigabyte's UK RMA and good customer support is one of the best things going for them, that is the reason my graphics card and my motherboard are from them.

Didn't ask about second-hand. But if it holds true that you either need to produce invoice, or RMA through retailer (who will know it was a B-Grade), then what?

I have it on very good authority that it's something they don't actively announce but they are flexible. At the end of they day they offer the card with a 3 year warranty and if it's had 10 months use and then been replaced and being sold as B-Grade then they generally honour the remaining warranty but only direct and not through OCUK. It's something that I am happy to take the chance on from a, the price of the card and b, the person that told me ;). I am not saying that they WILL 100% honour it but it's good for me, good for Gigabyte and good for business and customer confidence.

Fair enough. One more thing to clarify please - so it'll have 3 year warranty despite being sold with 2 year warranty?
 
It depends what it was initially stated at time of purchase from gigabyte. I often see other companies state different warranty lengths from the manufacturer. I think you can create a login on the gigabyte website that allows you to put in your serial number and it will show your warranty information from manufacture date.

nice! get some snaps up of it when installed :D

as the the A400, is it cheaper then intels 256GB for £39... as your getting 16GB extra, and thats windows 10 install!!! also dont forget even before windows install, you lose 5-10gb with formatting

check the box and card - i believe ocuk customer service should also be able to state WHY its b-grade :)
 
Ordered mine at 4.55pm yesterday... Arrived at about 10.40am this morning. Box is a little tatty and the anti-static bag has been opened but the card looks pretty mint with all the connector covers and doesn't look like there is a spec of dust in the fans or heatsink.

I will be sticking it in my testbed soon to give it a good run.
