Nvidia Fire Shots At AMD’s 7nm Graphics Technology

Jensen's fourth commandment:

"The more ye buy, the more energy thou whilst save"

What's not to like?

Unsurprised to see a couple take it personally and have a pop at me :D :D I was more interested in the fact that NVidia can release 7nm that blows everything away currently and do it far more efficiently than the competition. Hopefully 7nm NVidia GPUs soon. A wallet killer for sure I expect though :(

Until we see what they have, there are no facts, only the usual bluster from Jensen.

He's made a few statements like this recently, deriding AMD, which we haven't seen from him in quite a long time.

I can only assume he is worried or he's just say nothing about the competition, as has been the case since before Maxwell.

I think he's worried, though not necessarily about anything AMD has got brewing. But remember when it was announced that Sony and Microsoft had awarded the supply contracts for the PS4 and Xbox One to AMD? nVidia claimed consoles were crap and they weren't interested in manufacturing anything for weak inferior consoles anyway (paraphrased), WHILE they were working with Nintendo on the Switch.

AMDs 7nm power is fine, as you have to remember, they bang em out at high volts, so you have to undervolt them, and once you've done that, they're sorted.

Why they don't just do it themselves, baffles me :p

"What makes us special is we can create the most energy-efficient GPU in the world at anytime"........"but it will cost you a ****** fortune , haha!"

You can take your ludicrously overpriced RTX series and shove it up your backside Jen.

AMD's 7nm power is not fine so they are not sorted!

Nvidia already do it themselves, Turing is the most energy efficient GPU at anytime, whether it at stock, overclocked and undervolted.

So now you can see AMD 7nm undervolted power consumption is horrible, there was very little power saving while RTX 2080 Ti at 12nm had the most energy efficient saving more power while undervolted used less power consumption than Radeon VII.

But My VII runs sweet at 930mv so not all silicone is equal, but if your happy paying Nvidia's prices to claim they have 100mv more efficiency for near double the price, then fine.

Oh snap!
Looks like jacketman found out AMD/Intel future SoC's will eat into the midrange segment(s).

As it stands right now there is no genuine performing mid range SoC (graphic wise).

I thought it was a just a rumor that PS5/Next Gen Xbox would best a current gen midrange gpu. I guess we will find out soon enough when leaks hit.

Nvidia stuff is efficient for the performance they give. If amd ran their stuff slower it would be exceptionally efficient. The problem is, they didn't make the cards powerful enough so had to compensate with clocks.

So yeah.. bragging about efficiency and being able to do it at anytime, that's like spitting on your customers and telling them you didn't give them your best.

But Nvidia's "boost" clock speeds seem to be hard linked to the voltage in the card's BIOS. So basically by reducing the volts your just indirectly downclocking the card, it will use less volts because it's now a slower card (as seen by the results)...

AMD GPUs work totally different and are more flexible with power and clocks. You can get a noticeable performance GAIN by undervolting at the same time as overclocking. Depending on your luck in the silicone lottery ofc.

jenson's lover boy:p:rolleyes:

Killing off PhysX- "It just works"
Killing off SLI- "It just works"
Killing off GSync with FSync inclusion - " Freesync It just works"
;)
I notice too that it looks like he's reflecting for reasons no one is clear on.
Think about it. He never had to make "these statements" before and Nvidia gpus did well. Now he's squawking about looking to be seen.

Question: Was he not still right before when he said nothing and was eating up marketshare in the gpu space? Therefore, what is the difference now in the gpu landscape at 7nm and then (when he said nothing). To me, that's the right question.

Poor Gregster there's no e-peen value in talking about his 2080ti because they're widely recognised to have been an over-priced disaster which NV can't sell, so he's dreaming about spending another £1500 on something he might be able to brag about...

How sad.
