NINE YEAR THREAD BUMP: Catholic church and child abuse

The CC was infiltrated and taken over centuries ago by paganism. It may have been a somewhat truthful church at one point but it's spread it's wings of false teachings far and wide for a long time and I doubt there is any way back.

The Roman Catholic Church teaches many doctrines that are in disagreement with what the Bible declares. These include apostolic succession, worship of saints or Mary, prayer to saints or Mary, the pope / papacy, infant baptism, transubstantiation, plenary indulgences, the sacramental system, and purgatory

The end credits of the film Spotlight captures the culture in the chruch perfectly for me - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1895587/quotes

I'm sure it's not just the catholic church either, and it probably applies to most religious institutions and other "cults".

It's all about power and control.

Over the course of 2002, the Spotlight team published close to 600 stories about the scandal.

249 priests and brothers were publicly accused of sexual abuse within the Boston Archdiocese. The number of survivors in Boston is estimated to be well over 1,000.

In December 2002, Cardinal Law resigned from the Boston Archdiocese. He was reassigned to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, one of the highest ranking Roman Catholic churches in the world.

Or a more easy explanation is that sinners were valuable troves of wealth to plunder, so they fomented it on purpose.

******* blaming it on paganists is lol.

i dont even get these child abuse cases, why not just go arrest the suspects wether they be in a church or sat in a mosque, anyone tries to obstruct should be arrested too.

why cant it be that simple

Arguably it is more the other way round. :p

The Church of Rome does have an interesting history, particularly the politically convenient blend of Roman Paganism/Pantheon and early Christian teachings.

(Saints are essentially minor Gods. Having Saints provides a mechanism to allow former Roman pagans to continue to pray to their various old gods, and indeed maintain graven images thereof, without actually breaking the Judaeo-Christian First Commandment.)

If you want to see what "Original" Christianity was all about you need to go more Oriental Orthodox ( Coptic, Ethiopian, Eritraien. Indian even. A Christian demographic that separated itself from Roman influence over 1500 years ago and was never really a part of it in the first place)

No, they don't get Papal immunity. What they do get though and have always got, is Papal protection and a wall of silence and denial from the Papal authorities.

To be honest, they always favour the buyer and will just ignore any further emails once the refund has been granted.
