New Nationwide TV Advert

There are times when a high street bank is very useful, or in fact essential, like when I was purchasing my house and Lloyds put a block on my account as they had to verify the transaction due to the value exceeding their limit. Being able to get that sorted on the day was very reassuring seeing as I had to complete the purchase in two days.

I'm not sure what a difference a branch made there that a phone call wouldn't.

You really have had a total sense of humour bypass haven’t you :p

Its the internet, you really can't tell when people are serious at times. Have you read some of the threads in the General Discussion forum, you would SWEAR they must be kidding but nope, they are serious.

Nationwide are just a wannabe bank that trades under the disguise of a building society. I wonder how many members exactly get a vote at the AGM?

Is carpet bagging still a thing?

These ads are irritating as hell, like their crap sisters singing one. Oh and Barclays' life lessons rubbish. And any others that tell a story or try to reach out to people or whatever it is they're trying to do. Absolute crap.

yep - I think you need to keep your money(gold maybe better than pounds) under the (simba/eve/ryan)mattress, with all the virtue signalling from the likes of lloyds/barclays,
saying they are providing digital security lessons, or mental health aid,
in particular, when they don't have 2FA on their accounts ... which did not seem to have been considered in the name your cuddly bank thread.

That Barclays ad with the girl trying to solve some primary school boat riddle then going out to fix some wind turbine thingy like some big genius boss is utter cringe.

Bit hard to verify somebody's identity over the phone.

I'm not saying I agree with Lloyd's policy on restricting faster payments to £20k a day without going to a branch. However the fact one was nearby meant it could be resolved quickly.
