They all have trick suspension, all the top teams spend millions on trick suspension systems for every season, there are huge gains to be made there. As was pointed out to rubberduck, active suspension shows a complete lack of ride height change as it automatically adjusts to do so.

The second post along with the image explains it quite well. Active means managed, means changing depending on conditions. A hinge is not active, it works the same way all race with no controlling aspect, it's just there but it only works within a specific range to really help in cornering. What's once again amazing from Merc is making a hinged suspension push rod that doesn't break under load.
thanks for posting this, looking at the hardware it doesn't seem that complicated, but obviously is otherwise everyone would have it.

Absolute ********.

Why the need to be so rude? Im not an automotive engineer and certainly a casual fan of F1 but always trying to make observations and discuss things to learn. If a 30 stone bloke posted in the gym forum saying what his diet was and wanting to improve himself would you expect people to insult him?

If you've made an observation then you'd surely post that, and ask questions if you wanted to discuss to learn. Instead you made an accusation and made statements as though they were fact.

Merc have clearly got active suspension going on. They didn't run it in winter testing but have now got it up and running. I reckon Ferrari had a better car initially but now Merc have overtaken them with shenanigans.

Well, you could - it would make a difference, as your comments were immediately addressed by a number of people.

Quite a few people talk about facts as well as opinion, so your last point is incorrect.

Just add IMO to the end of every sentence of mine you have quoted then??? Surely IMO goes without saying on a public forum discussion board?

It's more the fact that you stated they have active suspension, were basically told by everyone in no uncertain terms that no they didn't, that what you've seen isn't what active suspension looks like and active suspension would be spotted literally the first time they put it on the car and they would have been ***** slapped by the FIA... then you replied and said okay, I take that on board, but they clearly have some kind of semi active suspension going on, throwing out literally the entirety of several posts explaining that it wasn't that. To which someone said absolutely 'testicles' to the post.

Not particularly rude or unexpected. When told why you were wrong you said, yeah but... i'm totally right.

Voted 7/10 for the first lap chaos. Verstappen will split the mercs in qualifying with Vettel 4th and Leclerc 5th. Max will take an early dive into turn one and out brake himself and eating barrier, but the whiley old pole man Lewis will read it and duck inside nicely. Vettel will get a good launch off the line, dive inside too only to get caught out by what just happened and take out Bottas in P2. Leclerc will find a gap and carry on, Grosjean will try to overtake the chaos outside of the barriers and fall into the sea. Thankfully Perez is still on track and will be the one that finally blocks the circuit by refusing to give anyone including the barriers, crashed cars and seagulls any space.

Can't wait!

Ferrari won final practice

Charles won the final practice.

They really like to shoot themselves in the foot.

If Charles can fight with the mercedeses and beat them both, I'm not sure why they'd like to sabotage his performance. It makes absolutely no sense, no matter what contracts they have with Vettel and what politics they like to follow.
