AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

I thought it was more to do with it running at its advertised speed more than anything.

i.e. you might buy some 3200mhz micron/Hynix based memory, but you may only get it to run at 2933Mhz, but if you buy 3200Mhz Samsung b-die memory, you can basically guarantee it will run at that advertised 3200Mhz
Let's hope Zen2's memory controller improves that.

Will we find out at E3 which is the best CPU for gaming? or will we need to wait for reviews?
Lisa made it very clear the 3800x was the best gaming chip. But then others have suggested that the 3900x or 16 core will be faster.
I want the best gaming CPU so will need to know before purchase.

Literally only on this forum that B-die is a talked about thing at all.
Bit suspicious that OCUK sells specific b die ram for ryzen at an inflated price no?

B-die is well renowned for supporting higher frequencies and lower latencys with ryzen. It's talked about well beyond this forum and is recognised just about everywhere as the best ram for ryzen and is sold everywhere as that. Just a shame they stopped production

Given the ryzen 5 is 6 core, 7 is 8 core and 9 is 12 core, will the 16 core be called ryzen 11?

I'm more interested in how they'll brand the model number. Isn't much space between 3900X and 4xxx. 3999X maybe? :D 3950 just seems like a moderate clock bump, not an extra 4 cores/8 threads. Unless they think/know they have the market sewn up and don't want to launch it until Zen 2+ in 2020.

3950? and/or 3950X? years of AMD, what a celebration :D

could be a throw back to the 1 GHz race and call it the Thunderbird :D

Having said that HArdware Unboxed put out a video saying they would be surprised to see a 16 core this gen. They think they are saving it for Zen2+ (Ryzen 4000)

Said this months ago. Literally no point in cannibalising their 16 core Threadrippers and why blow your entire load at once?

Might as well when you can reload quickly :D the yearly tick tock, assuming Zen 2+ is as on track as Zen+ was, it won't matter about cannibalising a tiny market (which itself will probably get 64c soon enough)
