How to do you check new external drives?

I picked up a pair of WD My Book 6TB Lumen (Recertified) which I want to use in an HPE server I picked up with OMV. I want to test the drives are good before I shuck them.

I ran error checking which was very fast and didn't find anything.
Is there a better way to test these before I open them up and void the warranty?

You would need to do a full scan which will take a long time to see if any faulty sectors are there.

Also you can open them up without damaging the tabs to save for warranty in future.

Thanks, I'm running a DLGDIAG - Extended test through the WD diagnostic tools.
I didn't know I could open them without damaging them. I would watch some videos.
