You couldn't have a more different June to this time last year 
The other week it got that dark in Birmingham city centre just after a lunchtime that the street lights came on, the cloud cover was that thick it was like the impending Apocalypse.

10/10 for being able to sleep at night and not drowning in a pool of my own sweat. Also the huge water meter savings for not having to water the garden several times a day.
I don't go in the summer hols. May, September and October this year though. Proposed up Pentire Point at Polzeath in May
Will be bringing the family down in about a month. I'll be sure to spend a day in St Breward

I hate to be a pedant, but you're incorrect. The longer evenings continue until 25 June, from which point they will get shorter.
Although the days may get shorter, that doesn't mean that the evenings do. There are two ends to a day

It doesn't go completely dark at all here up North sky still has some light to it through midnight and by 3/4am it's light again enough to not need the street lights

That's damn good news for the water though. Having a peek at United Utilities, the reservoirs for the north west are up about 10% on this time last year. So hopefully no drought restrictions this summer.

ha im been abit tounge in cheek . im a yorkshireman ,had a seasonal pitch down here for ages before coming down ,my mum and dad are having a week with me on sunday (from mirfield west yorks) st brewards a bit quiet but old inn worth a visit and amazing countryside

We were actually in quite a bad way earlier in the year with potential for significant drought conditions - though rain at this time of year doesn't tend to replenish aquifers, etc. the same as it does in the right months it's still an improvement.
