AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

The 9900k is interesting. I have a first batch chip which gives me a really low vcore of 1.26v 5ghz all cores. Even then I can hit 95c just in cinebench r20 with a Dark Rock 4 cooler. A top end air cooler. The people who need 1.35v are SOL outside of custom loops. Even battlefield 5 on a warm day can touch 90.

So while the 9900k can deliver the numbers, it's basically everything intel has pushed to the absolute limit. It's also going to be a problem for Intel in the future to deliver something that's well ahead of the 9900k's numbers.

I can imagine a lot of people who hold up the 9900k might not have experience with one.

One of those really annoying people who deliberately over excites himself for the camera, cringe.

We know it's you Humbug ;)

Anyway, apparently there's only some Ryzen 3 lines in stock.
Rest due tomorrow........... While I've seen similar before, that's disappointing considering the last two launches. Stock must be *tight*!

Is yours delidded?
I'm on a 2700 myself having ditched Intel from a 4770K to a 1700.

A competitor in the UK are advertising they have 46 in stock for Ryzen 5 3600.

So we're looking at AMD narrowing the gaming gap again but still not beating the 9900k, what surprises could there be?

Outside of the criminally optimistic that was clear looking at the 9900k reviews when it released. In some games/engines the 9900k was quite a bit ahead and in some games the Ryzen close or slightly better. Maybe they have something up their sleeves we haven't seen yet.

Ryzen has been great for the market but we are now 3 gens in and they are still only about level with Intel's creaking architecture. At least they have Intel scratching their heads again which can only be good for the market.

I'm interested in seeing what the 12 and 16 core can do with smt/HT turned off (assuming it's possible), wether or not clock speed could get a bump, probably minimal if it does, but what like to see anyway. Having a cpu with 12 physical Vs my 8700k's 6/12 interests me as maybe a mini pc/lounge project to replace the 4790k.

Sorry, I mistyped.
It said "Some Ryzen 3 lines in stock. Some still in transit"
So 3600 could be in stock.
But no 3900X etc.

to be honest the only thing i really want today would be the board if the cpu's are in short supply i dont mind waiting but if i could get a cpu today i would also
