Age 66 and 3/4

Excluding @DXP55 (sorry)

What we need is a graph taking in polls from previous years to see how the demographic has changed. Has the user group aged, or has there been a load of new blood join. Is it just the same people posting from back in 2003 when I joined?

p.s this must me my longest membership of anything online or otherwise.

24. Still closer to my teens than my thirties. Although don't feel it. :D

I must have joined not long after going to high school. That really doesn't feel like ten years ago!

33. First registered in 99/00 after I bought a Radeon 7500. I lied about my age at the time so my account appears that I am older than I am :p. Also my user name is equally lame but I was 14/15 at the time.

Youngsters don't really use forums, they're a relic from the early 2000's. It's all Reddit and social media these days.

Reddit can be good and the worst. I usually read it daily for some games, hardware and searching things but Reddit can be a horrid bitter place. Saying that the Internet can be mostly, after all it's people. Can be the best and worst equally.

Thankfully I'm not registered there.

We had MSN messenger, AOL and GeoCities.

MSN. Such good times now everything is gone unless you're into social media. Discord is the closest thing.

Oh yes ! The early 00’s were great. Modding windows xp to theme it with new skins, same with Winamp etc.

Edit I don’t know if it still exists but I used to use trillian messenger which was pretty slick back then. (All the major chat clients rolled into one)

Windowsblinds. Turns out they're still on the go. I barely use a PC anymore.

Yeah. https://www.wincustomize.com/ https://www.stardock.com/

I know we have a man of honour status, but I also think we should have a special status for the 71’s and over. A father of the forum type status. The avatar could be Anthony Quinn from the Gotti movie, when he played the veteran wiseguy, Neil Dellacroce.

The true Godfather?

It's built into macOS. Apple think of everything :D :D

Made me chuckle.

34 for the moment - I wonder how this poll would compare to Facebook and similar sites.

I wonder if the pistonheads forum would be similar to here - and maybe Mumsnet!

48 years young. And 2 years away from retirement.:D
definitely a good age to retire (ive passed the 50 mark),im paying myself for afew months off at the moment after redundancy ,going to spain for September part October to do the camino but will have to get something part time when i return .
thing is at 50 you can be physically the same as 30 ,if im being honest though im missing the social aspect of work but i guess thats living in the middle of nowhere and been single ,one of the reasons i need to do the camino

Nice one. Agreed - 50 is still a young enough age to go off and do something different. I have a few irons in the fire and have been actively networking in my current work role. Once I retire from where I currently am which is an emergency services secondment to a government organisation, it looks very likely that I will be asked to return as a consultant, work pattern to suit me. That should pay for a few holidays and keep me in beer tokens.
