Euro Carparks - it's on!

They're scum, all of them. I'm with rob, I'd stiff them with a smile on my face. In fact I'd go out of my way to help other people stiff them too.

OK, the advice I'm seeing on the pepipoo forums, and bear in mind this is because the car park is in Scotland:

There is no keeper liability in Scotland, so they can only pursue the driver, who they don't know. Keep it that way by ignoring. That's also the advice of Citizens Advice Scotland. But don't get multiple tickets.

You will get a gaggle of deadbeat debt chasers threatening fire and brimstone. The last throw of the dice is usually sheriff officers such as Stirling Park telling you if you don't pay it will go to court in 7 days. Its a bluff. It fizzles out in 9 months to a year. To date parking companies in Scotland have only taken multiple tickets to court. Single tickets require a lot of legal leg work in Scotland and not worth their while.

Looks like it's time to sit tight. Oh, and I've taken on those bullying debt collectors before - they got the brown stuff through the letterbox - bring it on!

Sounds like the Scottish law gives you a much better chance of avoiding these fines.

I was thinking if it was in England, overstaying is probably quite hard to get out of. Especially if it was considerably over the time.

In the wrong? Dear God, let's not entertain that notion. There's only one mission available here, thanks for the link.
I've been ignoring one for a couple years now, they just sell it on to debt collectors who then sell it on and on and on... The more it's sold the less they have invested the less likely a prosecution. However, ECP are a big company, so Google first.

Take car to a remote location. Set fire to it. Report it as stolen from before the fine. Then chin everyone.

Google "Euro carparks location"

go there, rip your top off, shout "you want sum of this?!" and then chin everyone.

Lol :p

@OP - not the sort of thing you want to hear after getting a fine from this scummy company, but you'll be better off paying it and moving on; less headaches involved :-)

There is no Keeper liability in Scotland. But that will not stop ECP applying for the keeper details from the DVLA.
So if you do receive a NTK it cannot mention that the Keeper may be liable for the actions of the Driver using the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

Ignore or write them a terse note stating that you were not the driver on the occasion and to stop harassing you as you have no legal obligation to identify the driver.

In england doesn't matter who was driving, the keeper of the car is liable and will have to cough up.
