And the witch hunt started.

"People can be allergic to pork and potentially die from such a stupid mistake"

People with such unfortunate life threatening conditions can just avoid places that specialise in sausage rolls tbh. Sucks to be them but that's natural selection for you

As a vegan she should well know that to ask for a ‘sausage roll’ at Greggs means she will be given one with pork sausage meat. I am surprised though that the first words out of her mouth as soon as she got to the counter weren’t ‘I’m a vegan’

For allergy sufferers this is a valid issue however this one says she's "poisoned for life" and "traumatised for life" she does like to milk the "life" thing.

She's eaten meat up to the age of 18 so I am sure she's not poisoned or traumatised for life. Get the **** over it.

It's a daily mail article. They know their audience and it's just bait for them to go off on one about vegans, as evidenced by this thread.

It is pretty upsetting for a vegetarian to eat meat (to that vegetarian).

They should not have served her a pork sausage roll if they asked for a veggie one.

*stares at wall*

*leaves room*

The company is, as many others, guilty for using such terms that more often than not cause misinterpretation. The government should ban terms like vegan sausage, vegan bacon, plant based meat. If isn't the real thing, shouldn't be called as such. And on a busy environment, an employee overworked and multitasking would just hear: sausage roll.

Allergic to pork and die, lol yeah im not sure that's even possible.

My guess is she saw the news about the other thing where someone actually died from a allergy and is trying to scam to get on tele or some money. There will be others that try this no doubt. Anyhow, Gregs do nice sausage rolls, better than supermarket ones at least imo. Tho the ultimate ones are from Mullins bakers in the north east. Those are yum as heck.

I do agree with Michael above, about the naming of things vegan.
