This was the full price in shops. The budget range, and sometimes re-released titles. I think the most expensive games back then, the AAA games, were about £15.99.

Used to love going into Smiths or Boots upstairs down Durham, with your pocket money almost glowing white hot. Never been in either shop for years now.

I had an Atari 2600 and the carts were about £40 iirc.
It was nowhere near as powerful as a C64, which I upgraded to thanks to the magic of hand-me-downs from older siblings![]()
