Britain's most prolific serial rapist is jailed (male Rape)

Slightly confused though, isn't the general consensus in GD [of drunk people being raped] to blame the victims for being in that state in the first place?

Not to blame them just to point out that if people act personally irresponsible they make themselves vulnerable to all sorts of dangers which exist in the world around them, not knowing these dangers is part of why children need protecting by responsible adults. A lot of adults today don't seem to know the dangers.

I've not read the article but I imagine he must be one of the worst cases ever. The sheer number of victims is chilling, hope he rots in jail.

Errm, there's more than one article to use.

Young lads, and particularly teenagers tend to binge drink more, which is probably why he mainly targeted that age group.
Errm ( :p ) still doesn’t say they were already out of it. It’s entirely possible not to remember the specifics of a conversation after a nights drinking while still being in a position to pass on a nights raping.
But that’s an aside as my point was more about the usual victim blaming that occurs in GD. Sorry if I wasn’t clear on that.

I wonder if the forum super sleuths will pore over the video footage to make their own judgement on guilt, just like they did with the Ayia Napa case.

Am surprised there hasn't been anything on tonight's BBC news about this.

EDIT:

See it now on the 6 O'Clock news but it seems to have been dropped from the 7 O'Clock London version, both on the iPlayer.

If I leave the keys in my car and the door wide open then someone steals my car and someone points out that it wasn't smart behaviour, are they victim blaming? Are we not allowed to suggest that you should take precautions so you aren't a victim of crime?

With that said no doubt most of us have been drunk and vulnerable at some point, people who commit rape in those circumstances should be hung.

From my understanding, the victims were vulnerable not because they were legless when they met the guy, but because of the GHB he put in their drinks after inviting them back to his gaff.

190 victims and the guy was bragging about his sex life on social media throughout. A proper wrong 'un.

I think a lot of the victims probably weren't even legless. Plenty were probably just tipsy, but you meet a friendly face, your phone is dead, can't get an uber, he offers you a safe place to charge up or make a call to a cab company or to regroup while waiting to reconnect with your friends without hanging about in the street and you say sure, why not, because he seems alright and comes across as a friendly good samaritan.

Doesn't take much for him to then slip GHB into a glass of water, a beer, a shot, doesn't matter if you wanted more to drink to get drunk or plan on sobering up. Once you've ingested whatever date rape drug he spike you with, you're quite literally ******.

I've read the BBC article.

Most of the victims didn't know what had happened to them and were just going about their lives. Then the police rock up and tell them they've been raped and their whole lives fall apart, and then the sick **** pleads not guilty and the victims have to watch the videos? That's just as ****ed up as the acts carried out by this sicko.

I was out regularly in Manchester around the time this guy was on the prowl. Makes you think :(
