*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Morning gents!

My US-8-60W is showing a "downgrade" button current 4.0.69.10871 can downgrade to 4.0.66.10832 I'm not doing anything as its stable unless someone say otherwise (with a backup before hand as I have already learnt @WJA69 :D)

EDIT: Just took my micro SD out of the cloud key and popped it in my W10 laptop and it wants me to format the card again? I did this after I messed up the cloud key firmware update can't see how to set this up going from a Windows machine to the Cloud Key?

Any advice on the SD formatting please?

FlexHD unit, many people got one yet, I'm toying with selling a Pro unit for one due to the more flexible form factor

He’s always trunked the whole thing for me (but I always have cameras and I don’t want anyone cutting or chewing through the cables). You’d probably have to agree what colour cable you wanted if you didn’t want trunking as I always get purple BT cable!
Seems like he’s on holiday...curses :p

I got a USG but tbh the speed tests have been poor compared to my netgear router.

I thought these were supposed to be much faster?

Can you provide more info, what features you have enabled on the USG, what was the speed on the netgear and what you getting with the USG, what is the setup, ie wired, wireless, vlans, flat network etc.

I haven't enabled anything on the USG. no packet sniffing, etc.

netgear i got my full 350 MB down well i got 375MB as I am close to the main box so I get faster than advertised.

I now get 200 MB down so it's a significant drop to almost half.

my connection used to be SH3 in modem mode to netgear to PC.

it's now SH3 in modem mode to USG to gigabit switch to PC.

Then there is something not right as I use USG with Virgin and get almost 600Mbps

That's not from the "USG Dashboard", that from real world downloads (USENET) or something like fast.com

I hate to burst your bubble, but you aren’t special - VM over provision it’s profiles for everyone and has done for many years.

With regard to your wifi issue have you compared the config on the netgear router to the config in the AP? Channel number/width are obvious starting points assuming you are using the same clients. Also while it seems obvious, you have installed it properly and not as someone had pointed a ceiling mounted AP up in the air upstairs and then complained that he didn’t get great coverage.

I'm using wired not wireless.

Also I have one access point ceiling mounted.

The other is wall mounted which I know is incorrect but it was the only feasible option at the time.

However none of that matters as I'm using wired connection for the speed tests.

That doesn't sound right.

What are you using to test the speed?

Some advice needed please. Trying to adopt a USG to my network. VM SH3 is in modem mode connected to WAN and my Unifi switch connected to LAN. Had changed the USG to reflect 192.168.0.1 but it reverted back to 192.168.1.1 when trying to adopt. Not sure what to do...controller is running off a RPi.

Change the IP address on the controller. The controller settings over-write what you type into the USG when you adopt it.

Hosted cloud controllers.
Who’s using what?

I’m running 94 installs and ALL are on site-located Cloud Keys. We’re quickly swapping out the older Gen 1 for Gen 2 simply because they offer a bit more reliability and if we’re talking about 12-hour response times when we can’t manage it remotely it’s a long drag from Salford to Orkney!
