Fact checked and is not the case.

Mostly True
About this rating
What's True
President Trump rescinded a rule that would have provided a new way to enforce existing background check restrictions on gun sales by allowing a transfer of information from one agency to another.

What's False
President Trump's action did not completely eliminate background checks for gun purchases (by the mentally ill or anyone else).

Well I for one am glad he got rid of that outrageous rule

Imagine agencies like the police, FBI, ATF etc having access to a shared database! Unbelievable

Well, try reading your link

The Obama rule would have prevented an estimated 75,000 people with mental disorders from being able to purchase a firearm. It was crafted as part of Obama’s efforts to strengthen the federal background check system in the wake of the 2012 massacre of 20 young students and six staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

While the law did not change who is required to be the subject of background checks, it is true that Trump signed the repeal of a measure that would have plausibly prevented certain classes of mentally ill people from purchasing firearms by allowing a new data source to be included the system that runs those background checks. As such we rank the claim mostly true.

So on the basis that Trump repealing the law allowed an estimated 75,000 people with mentally disorders to legally own guns then its true.

But as I have asked you before, how you you gel the fact that you state its a human right to own a gun yet you agree that there should be laws which mean certain people can;t own a gun?

Its almost like he says one thing but means another most
Of the time.

Trump rumoured to have bizarrely fallen in love with the character of Uncle "I heard that, pardon" Stavley from 1970's sitcom "I Didn't Know You Cared". Thought to have completely misunderstood the meaning of the catchphrase.

If you are referencing the impeachment that is incorrect.

When it comes to dangerous weapons that most people no longer actually need. The 2nd amendment was there to protect people back in the days of civil war and when there wereg of armed gangs around. That's so outdated now.
Yeah because there definitely isnt any large armed gangs around in the USA today, lol wait a minute....

That's self inflicted...

Being shot by some maniac isn't a choice is it?
Most gun deaths are gang related, next up is suicide. If you arent in those demographics then statistically you are very unlikely to be killed be someone with a gun, certainly no more likely than to be stabbed to death.

But obviously focus on the extreme events to make legislation over, makes total sense and always works great.

And where does accidentally being shot/killed in a gang shooting put you in the stats?

Owning a gun is not a 'human right'

Glad someone else picked this up. I just don't see how owning a gun is a human right. Human rights are things that can't/shouldn't be removed and if removed from someone it should only be under exceptional circumstances. So a right to life, freedom of expression, freedom of thought, not be a slave or tortured, freedom to move, to be treated equally before the law, right to a fair trial, not to be detained without good reason. Those are human rights and when you remove them from the population you have a very serious problem. Owning a gun is like owning a car or a stick. By not being able to own a gun doesn't stop you from being able to defend yourself or your home. Its just a tool you can use. You can defend yourself or your home with a piece of wood or your fists. Its in the US Bill of Rights because it was necessary at the time but that doesn't make it a human right.
