Same boat, first AC, but pre-ordered a physical copy.

Watching the direct a couple weeks ago got me more excited than I thought it would. My Switch hasn't seen much use this year as I've been diving into Xbox game pass, but I imagine this could turn things around.

Trying to stay away from most reviews to ensure that first experience is as fresh as possible.

I've been on PS4 mostly myself, until I got back into Zelda recently.

I know what you mean about experiencing it fresh with no spoilers but as I was still on the fence I thought worth watching a few reviews rather than spend £40 only to sell on in a week at a loss.

I ordered from Simply Games, said on the site will receive on the day of release but not sure how likely that will be given what's going on.

My girlfriend will not be happy if you start playing early. I swapped her to the digital version. I think it's better for all of us at this time if you just wait till Friday.
 
We'll I reckon it won't be here today but maybe tomorrow. Unfortunately I still need to work, so unlikely I'll actually play it until the weekend anyway!
 
Bought it last night digital. Pre-loaded and ready to go! With all this pandemic stuff going on I thought I'd treat myself to some nice light escapism.
 
Just checked my tracking and royal mail have it to arrive tomorrow morning, so no early access shenanigans here!

Unfortunately work is business as usual and I'm at work until Sunday. The girlfriend will probably get in to it on Saturday whilst I'm there, very jealous of her.

Got notified has been sent today but just via Royal Mail so will just keep fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow.
 
My physical copy shipped from amazon this morning. Which I’m giving to my son as an Easter present.

probably grab myself a digital copy at some point so I can play too.

Do you have separate Switch systems? I take it you're aware you can only have one island per console regardless of the number of profiles or copies of AC.
 
Tomorrow I say goodbye to my faithful release switch...

as I trade it in for the AC special edition! :D

I've been playing AC titles since importing on the game cube over 16 years ago! I'm excited

That's so exciting. Love how the special edition console looks, but mine being only 6 months old, it's hard to justify.

Have you had the SE on preorder btw? Heard there was some supply issues with being such high demand for them.

I walked into a game store back when it was first announced. Apparently the store is only getting exactly the number pre-ordered
