Anyone planning on picking up on Friday or pre-ordered?

I'm an AC noobie, so think I'm going to get the physical version in case it doesn't click with me.

Same boat, first AC, but pre-ordered a physical copy.

Watching the direct a couple weeks ago got me more excited than I thought it would. My Switch hasn't seen much use this year as I've been diving into Xbox game pass, but I imagine this could turn things around.

Trying to stay away from most reviews to ensure that first experience is as fresh as possible.

I've been on PS4 mostly myself, until I got back into Zelda recently.

I know what you mean about experiencing it fresh with no spoilers but as I was still on the fence I thought worth watching a few reviews rather than spend £40 only to sell on in a week at a loss.

Just had an email to say my copy has been dispatched already from ShopTo, in the hands of Royal Mail now!

I ordered from Simply Games, said on the site will receive on the day of release but not sure how likely that will be given what's going on.

My physical copy shipped from amazon this morning. Which I’m giving to my son as an Easter present.

probably grab myself a digital copy at some point so I can play too.

Do you have separate Switch systems? I take it you're aware you can only have one island per console regardless of the number of profiles or copies of AC.

Never played Animal Crossing. I love Stardew so I’m very tempted by this, it’s getting outrageous reviews.

The reviews were what sold it for me, had no intention of purchasing until I'd seen a few.

Only had a short play but liking it a lot so far.

So who’s everyone got for their starter villagers ? I got Rory and Reneigh.

I also got cherries for my fruit. And my airport is blue.

so pretty happy with that.

Audrey and Samson are my villagers, I presumed everyone had the same starting characters but I guess not (AC noobie). Cherries here too.

Introduced my 5 year old little girl to this and she loved it, filled her tent with fish tanks and already bought new clothes and just waiting for delivery. Is it right you get stuff in your mailbox at 9 and 5?

How does it work if my wife wants to play the game also. Will she appear on my island?

Yeah she will need her own profile on the Switch, when she starts the game she'll go through the same starting tutorial to place her tent etc.

She can play as normal and you will both be on the same island.

Once in game she can call you from her Nook phone, or you can call her and then you can play together.

One of you will be the leader (you can switch) and has more functions, the secondary person is more restricted and anything they pick up goes in the box near Tommy or Timmy in Resident Services.

Seems expensive, about £40 online. Would this be something I could play with a 5 year old?

Playing it with my 5 year old girl, she's not great with the controller so keeps making me take over but is enjoying buying outfits and putting things in her tent.

Nintendo and a massively popular franchise... Probably won't get much cheaper than £40, might get a digital offer a some point but not for a while.

Hey guys, would you get a physical copy or digital download? I've never played a AC game before but heard digital would be better because of how you jump in and out of the game.

I'm intrigued with the game style and during this time f craziness I think it might be a good game to try.

I went physical as wasn't sure if I'd like it (I do) so could sell on if not.

Depends if you change games a lot, my Zelda cart basically lived in my Switch for 2 years, can see AC not being removed for months so not a big deal for me.

What I didn't realise until last night was when selling stuff you could select multiple items... Doh!

Because the rock will smash, and break. You can farm nuggets from rocks if you hit them with a spade and haven’t eaten fruit

Thanks, trying to avoid too many guides and online resources so didn't realise eating a cherry would make me superhuman...

I smashed 2 on my island, pleased to hear they respawn.

Wow I haven't even seen a tarantula yet and I'm not sure that I want to!

I saw one for the first time yesterday, took my time getting my net out, swung and missed and the little bigger turned around and chased me, actually made me jump as wasn't expecting that!

What's the relevance of not having eaten fruit before hitting rocks?

If you eat a fruit and hit a rock it will smash, but after a couple of days they respawn (in a new place).
