Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Yeah Virgin's pricing for new customers vs. what they want to charge out of contract is crazy - it's close to a 50% increase in many cases.

So, I got put through to a special department which just so happens to be an English call centre lol.
I've ended up just getting the 500Mb with a sim card for £54 a month, I could have probably got that down to £48 had I went through the cancellation nonesense.

Guys as before, I can get discount on VM new customers, have signed up quite a few of you lot already, for more info PM me

Nope, I just said I wanted to upgrade as I'm out of contract and eventually got put through to an English call centre

It could be worth trying retentions as I imagine they will be able to offer it for £50 but I just wanted it sorted as I was paying almost that already.

Attempting to upgrade via the live chat, was talking to an agent and now they've gone quiet when I said I wanted broadband only

I called and they said 500mbps is not avabile to me yet, despite it being on the site this morning. If I run through their site as a "new customer" I can even place an order for 500Mb broadband only. Maybe I will try again later in the week.

I called back again and they were able to offer it to me. It went live on my connection straight away.

My contract ended in February this year I'm paying £62.91!! for (see below) which is going up again to £65 in August.

M350 & Talk More Anytime don't really need the Talk More Anytime anymore but still need the phone.

I have tried getting through to retentions but not been able to get through, and my shift pattern is a bit hard to use the txt service seeing as I'm not allowed to use my mobile in work.

Would really like a better offer at the minute.

phone 150 select thinking of leaving option 4 on the 3rd menu and hand your notice in, they will come back to you with a better offer just before your contract expires

Unfortunately this didn't go the same way for me. I did get the English call centre but that included a very rude agent trying to tell me my business. I have submitted my 30 day notice as my current discounts expire next month...will hope for a retentions call sometime soon

If a manual discount was applied to it, then it can take a while to update. Although I have heard stories of them putting the contract through at full price and you have to call back up to sort it :(

Virgin media have absolutely *the* worst customer service, if I leave it I'll get charged the £66.

Once I had to ring up monthly for 3 months to get my discount reapplied each time.
In fact I've got a discount for it to even be £66 which makes no sense lol.

Indian call centre "Can't see my contract on screen", yet it's in my account if I log in.

I've got to call back in 2 days.
They are utterly inept as a company, and I feel sorry for those whom work at the Indian call centre and the ire that they receive albeit.

Distributed support models always have these issues. I completely understand that certain agents don't have authorisation to do XYZ but there's no need to try and force a customer down a certain route by being rude when I don't want to upgrade to a bundle.

Edit: plus when I said I wanted to give a 30 day notice, he said "are you sure you want to do this in a pandemic?" half tempted to submit a complaint
