* The Metal Thread *

Superb song! I knew some Megadeth without ever really going beyond Youthanasia and Peace Sells, then saw them live at Sonisohere as part of the big 4. They played that and I was blown away.

They were the first band I ever saw Live, during the Youthanasia tour in the mid '90s with Corrosion of Conformity opening for them and on the Coach ride down from Stoke to Wolves I heard the Machine Head - Burn My Eyes album for the first time - Awesome memories!

I think that early-mid nineties era was absolutely amazing for Metal* in general, just before the start of Nu-Metal kind of killed the "old" sounding music off for a bit as bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park etc swung into more mainstream music.

* -Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura, Slayer, Pantera, Biohazard, Anthrax etc, that style of band.

That does sound a fantastic show, and Burn My Eyes was on constant rotation throughout my teenage years, the soundtrack to many memories. I agree about that short period for metal, it was superb. Nu-metal then dominated for so long (some good, mostly bad) but the good stuff was still there, just less prominent (the emergence of Meshuggah, Opeth etc).
