Refund to my Credit Card in error but now requesting the funds via Bank Transfer *Resolved Now*

This does not sound like something a proper company would do, tell them you are not sending anything via bank transfer.

I think it's fair that the general consensus is not to pay them via bank transfer which I am of course not going to do.

Will see how this plays out and provide an update when they come back with something.

As for the 100% scam stuff it certainly does sound dodgy as anything however in this instance it isn't. All contact details used throughout from myself have been through official channels including speaking to multiple colleagues representing Nvidia and I've been able to see on my order page the refund etc.

Quite the bizarre episode but I'm certainly with most opinions on this that it's their issue and they need to come back with a reasonable approach/request.

This is a tricky one.

I certainly wouldn't be giving them anything via wire!

Send it back or pay by same method. Sounds like could get messy with warranty down line.

Warranty issues would be the concern mostly but it's the wait and see approach now as the ball is now back in their court to come up with a solution to this.

I just find it absolutely bizarre they can't just either reclaim the money, they have my permission to do so, or contact the credit card company to resolve.

This does sound rather odd.

If you feel obliged to pay, I would insist on paying by credit card. I would not even entertain the idea of sending a money transfer. Just tell them, you don't have the cash that's why it's on a credit card (if you feel more comfortable doing that).

In the future world, they will be able to request the money through Request To Pay (some of you have probably seen this through various banks, PayPal etc.). For now though, it isn't an option :)

I say push to return it and buy a 3xxx series card in a few months.

That way, they get the card back they refunded you for and you will be quids in technically .

Win win.

If they're a legitimate distribution centre, then they'll be able to accept a credit card payment. Absolutely no way I'd be doing a bank transfer like that.

Who are this 'distribution centre' anyway.

I'm going to take a leap of faith and suggest that the competitor has a name that sounds very like scam. Am I right? You have now just learned why you should buy from somewhere more reputable.

They need to take it up with your credit card company, your credit card company may contact you about it and you can confirm the refund was in error. It's really not your problem.

If you wire someone some money by accident, (like if you get scamed) there's very little comeback, so certainly don't do that.

My thoughts as well you'd be amazed how crazy scams get these days no way would I wire any cash to them.

I got scammed by competitor up north located by a football stadium.. Had to fight tooth and nail to prove they hadn't sent my order. Finally proved it as the exact parcel weight was on a sticker from their couriers... It was down the exact weight of my GPU....Never used them again.

For that reason I'd ignore them.. Or ask for their bank details and never send it
