Yeah it was the new WH-1000XM4 noise cancelling headphones. The last ones were very popular so it's caused quite a stir in those circles.

Actually wondering how they would do as a gaming headset, could do with getting rid of some back ground noise! (I have a two year old)
I'm using the XM3 with an Avantree leaf pro dongle and theres no delay. The dongle and headphones both are APT-X low latency, so they work epic. Alternatively you can also just use the XM3 with the cable in connected to the controller, but turn the headphones on so it becomes very powerful (without it turned on, it sounds tinny)

In short - they're freaking amazing, but you will need another Mic (Vmoda boom pro and the set up is better sounding and versatile than any gaming set up I've come across)

Getting bored now. When I get bored I will just buy the other thing because I can't be arsed with all the secretive "dragging it out for column inches" nonsense that Sony seem to love so much.

But I guess they are as bad as each other. Think I might just pull the trigger and upgrade my computer instead and forget the next gen consoles for a year or so.

The quiet approach seems to be working than Microsoft bigging up everything and then backtracking with tail tucked between their legs.

You wont. When you see others, reviews, game reviews, the pretty graphics and new games to come for its feature over the next year. You'll be itching for the console. I've read these stories so many times.

Marketing and temptation is a powerful thing. People fold.

Exactement. I'm just wondering how the hell I'm going to resist buying Xbox Series X when I don't really need it. But I want it.

I personally feel both these consoles should have launched a year or 6 months later when they actually had something to launch with. Remember the PSX launch titles?

edit: Actually european PSx launch titles weren't great.

  • 3D Lemmings
  • Air Combat
  • Jumping Flash!
  • Kileak - The DNA Imperative
  • Novastorm
  • Rapid Reload
  • Ridge Racer
  • Wipeout

RR and Wipeout were obviously massive. Plus it was all new because it was 3d.

I remember loving that back in the day. Picked it up on the PS4P and it did not grab me, but then neither did Gran Turismo Sport which I was hooked to the first few games on the original PS back in the day. I loved that you won money, could upgrade your car or sell it to buy another car. These days they don’t have that which puts me off.

The XSX hardware itself has been ready since December 2019. Delaying it even longer than it already is would be nuts. Backwards compatibility is going to be very welcome for the first six months.

The old 6:4 ratio CRT screens looked so much larger than the equivalent widescreen ones.......and CRT did a great job of hiding the aliasing on a really rubbish resolution.

Not sure where you got that from, and not something I've seen before. It sounds incredibly unlikely, and is almost like saying AMD have sat on their next gen CPUs and GPUs for that period - any links?

Ahhh typical Phil.

I don't think it's going to be too barren at lauch, like said the BC or cross gen games should be decent enough to keep us going at the start.

True next gen experiences are thin on the ground at the moment.

The ps4 launch felt really barren.
