GameCube had a pretty awesome launch line-up. Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Squadron II, Super Monkey Ball, Wave Race. Smash Bros. Melee and Pikmin followed in the next month or so.

Loved that game. I was heavily into the Anime series Initial D at the time too.
Most Wanted (the one before it, not the remake) was so much better though.
Oh yes, no doubts about that. I didn't like Carbon at all, especially on PS3 with the SIXAXIS controller as it was then.
You just reminded me the launch controller didn't have vibrate. I'm not entirely sure I missed it.

What an idiot. He had earned a good reputation as a reliable leaker of all things Resident Evil, and then just takes it upon himself to level the playing field... By arbitrarily making **** up? Muppet.
Well a bit of a correction (dear me, I'm probably just as bad!) in that he thinks what he says is going to turn out true. So he has no factual evidence, just "contacts" he hears things from. And he decided to speak out as there was too much bad press for Xbox.

I don't really get why he's getting such a hostile reaction. The price claim seems in line with other predictions, partly due to the cost of parts for the two machines, and partly due to an expectation that Microsoft will be aggressive on price. And the power one? Series X does native 4K, while PS5 does "fake 4K" (checkerboarding?). If all else is equal, that suggests the performance gap isn't anything crazy.

Doesn't the PS4 already do 4k checkerboarding, in which case as the PS4 is a lot more powerful (I realise games will be more demanding) but shouldn't it be able to manage it?
PS5 will be plenty capable of handling native 4K. But when it comes to multi-platform games, if the Series X is indeed more powerful, you're going to see that manifest itself somewhere. Using checkerboarding on the PS5 version of a game is simply one option open to developers (one that has a fairly minor downside).

Tbf nothing wrong with the technique when I played HZD on PS4 Pro I felt look bloody stunning.
Granted I high quite a nice Samsung QLED which helps but even so I was more than impressed.
Same with GOW that also used chequerboard technique to my knowledge and I never noticed it was true 4k
