You wont. When you see others, reviews, game reviews, the pretty graphics and new games to come for its feature over the next year. You'll be itching for the console. I've read these stories so many times.

Marketing and temptation is a powerful thing. People fold.

That, sir, sounds like a challenge!!

You might be right but at the same time maybe not.

Im struggling to get excited - so unless they drop some info bombs soon, I'm gonna move on. I would be waiting till they released a black PS5 anyway, so thats another aspect for me - so I'm guessing if black isn't available on release then I'll be waiting till next year anyway.

Also might be a better game library by then too.

I never played/heard of it actually, was it a precursor to Ace Combat?

Yep! I must declare that I hold insane levels of nostalgia for it so I am ludicrously biased. One thing I will stand by, however, is that the soundtrack is still awesome to this day.

Ending FMV, good example of the games "soul":

I'm going to 'acquire' it and have a play. I recognised the cover art oddly but not the title itself. That music sounds like Joe Satriani

I don't think the Playstation UK launch was bad at all, within a month or two of launch the following games were all available?

Destruction Derby
Twisted Metal
Battle Arena Toshinden
Tekken
Ridge Racer
Wipeout

I remember well all of those games were mouth watering at the time. I had a friend who was committed to Sega Saturn and games like Daytona USA and Virtua Fighter which ultimately turned out to be really shoddy graphically compared to Playstation equivalents.

Funny isn't it. The PS1 looks like Atari 2600 to 2001 as 2001 is to 2020. some of the soundtracks were catchier back then.

I specifically meant launch day but obv then I realised the magnitude of some of the games in that line up!

Has there ever been a console which did have a really good day 1 launch line-up though? you usually get 1 or 2 top games at most then it's a matter of how long you have to wait for the big guns to arrive.

The Xbox 360 had Kameo, Condemned Criminal Origins, Need for Soeed Most Wanted, Perfect Dark Zero amongst others. All were brilliant.

Did some googling, it seems not but it's subjective I guess in some cases. Snes had Mario World, FZero and Pilotwings which retrospectively for me was the best. The worst for me was the PS4 and 3, I didn't like Motorstorm and I don't like alien shooter games so Resistance was forgettable too.

Didn't SNES also have R-Type and Super Tennis? Five amazing games at launch!

Look at that. What a time. Those were the days. Most of those games were fantastic. Even King Kong.

Not sure tbh, I enjoyed both of those though! Must admit, I've never felt I'm missing out much by not having a MS console. Other than Fable and Forza H as exceptions. That was a strong line up though.

Dreamcast had:

House of the dead 2
Sonic Adventure
Powerstone
Soul Caliber
Trickstyle
Ready to rumble boxing
Mortal Kombat Gold
Bluestinger
Hydro thunder
Airforce Delta
TNN Motorsports
Expendable
Tokyo Extreme Racer
NFL Blitz
NFL 2K

At least half of those were pretty much must buys at the time.

PS3 launch games were pretty poor but the console went on to do pretty well, I believe it outsold the 360 which surprised me.

80

We didn't get PS3 until March the next year. I think MotorStorm and Heavenly Sword were out then as they were the only ones I played, along with Resistance.
