He doesnt buy often.. 4k native is enough!![]()
Are there any recent rumors about the power consumption of the RTX 3090? Will a 650W PSU be enough?
Yeah, quite a big assumption that the consoles will be ~£500 although I'd guess MS may be willing to take more of a loss on each unit.

Careful, you'll give Nvidia ideas£1000-12000 for the 2080ti equivalent
£800 for the 2080 equivalent
I honestly feel around £1000 quid should get you their top of the line GPU... if they are going to make that price point £2000 now, then we are in trouble.

No wonder Nvidia are so expensive with so many of you umming and ahing over which Nvidia card to go for. They've got a sale from you regardless. Some are even thinking Nvidia card Vs console.
They will never lower their prices with such a loyal fan base.
Competing chip makers do exist but are destined to fail it seems.
at what point does it just become accepted that this is what they're charging for their hardware?
Genuine question, I'm not trying to be antagonistic.
Far more expensive to produce than last gen.
Why would they have drivers for unsupported, unpatched and thus and insecure operating systems?
Everyone should be on Windows 10 by now.
For me, the pricing of Ampere will confirm whether Turing was a one-off or is the new norm. Can I ask why people are so unwilling to accept prices? There are two manufacturers, and they can set whatever price they want right?
Are you all waiting for some unbelievable deal like when the 8800GT came out in 2007? The advice on this forum has been "wait for this" "wait for prices" for as long as I can remember, at what point does it just become accepted that this is what they're charging for their hardware?

Yea and it can only go so far.
This time they have a lot more competition.
That is why I can’t see those prices being accurate. I can see the 3070 being around £500 though, especially if it has 16gb vram.
Seems I will be skipping the launch as the 3070 comes in October. Fine by me as I need the card in November anyways. I would go 3080 if it was £600 but looks like they will want £800 for it, so they can keep that.
People don't have unlimited amounts of money.
Gaming, whilst a luxury, has always been accessible to the masses, unlike other more exclusive forms of entertainment. PC gaming a bit less so to start with, but eventually became relatively affordable.
Crucially, every time we accept and buy into a new, inflated set of prices, we tell the manufacturer that it's OK to keep pushing prices up and up and up.
If it's OK to push up prices 20% this gen, then we will be looking at another 20% next gen, and the gen after...
Frankly I don't want to keep giving Jensen more and more of my hard earned, and will not do so - even if I'm in the minority and the rest just keep paying. Everybody makes their own decisions.
It’s unlikely they will. I’d imagine $5-600 for both, perhaps more on the XSX.
They’d be making a loss at $1000 sale price to be honest never mind $500.
Far more expensive to produce than last gen. but I guess they will have some kind of super deal with manufacturers to bring the costs right down. Costs $10 for 1gb of gddr6 for example.
