Still leaning to PS5 - don't care if Xbox is more powerful; it simply doesn't have the games imo.

PS5 will support 4K/60fps with 1440p/120fps I'm guessing. Performance / Resolution settings to be the norm like the later half of the PS4 titles with different preferred options. Either way PS5 is a monster for a console, lets not forget the SSD playing a huge part too. XBOX has already failed and all they have atm is the game streaming to offer "1000s' of old games on launch. Consumers thrive off exclusives and original titles, PS5 has just that.

For a console that is not released yet, I fail to see how xbox has 'failed'.

They wanted Halo to be a launch title. Launch for the Xbox is now grim due to it being delayed and a lot of fans wanted it. Everything they have shown so far is all 2021 launch or moody indie titles nobody wants to play.

To be honest, the PS5 is no different. Main launch titles are Ratchet & Clank and Spiderman. Not saying they are bad games but nothing ground breaking either.

Neither launch looks all that exciting. I would almost rather they wait until they are ready. Both fear the other launching significantly earlier will provide an advantage so you have 2 consoles coming out with bang average games.

Got to say, I’ve never really got the appeal of the Spider-Man games (or batman for that matter).......so the PS5 isn’t looking that great either to me. I’m really interested to see what Sony’s approach to backwards compatibility will be - will they aim to improve old games the way m$ does, or are they merely happy to have them working?
At the moment I’m looking at xsx at launch (for the legacy gaming), and then delaying the PS5 until something that interests me comes up........unless Sony do something fun with the bc games.

Either way, it’s a bit poor that we have two consoles being released and so little for either on launch day!

Neither have confirmed their launch line-ups yet, so it could be even worse than people are speculating! If I was buying a PS5 on launch day though, I'd be happy enough with a couple out of Death Loop, Spidey: MM, and Demon's Souls, as well as a couple of the big multi-plats like Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla. There was talk a couple of weeks back that Sony still had more games to announce, but whether they'd be ready for launch or not is another thing entirely.

I'll just be happy to be able to play the PS4 games I've been putting off. Days Gone, God of War and Spider-Man will be my launch titles. :D

I played all the ones I wanted before recently selling my PS4P and I think due to lack of very interesting launch titles my excitement has been waning recently. I have been a lot more excited about new graphics cards coming out on the PC over the next few months. As long as they don’t turn out to be a flop then I can’t see myself getting the PS5 at launch at the moment.

Still will likely pick it up in 1-2 years time or after it’s first redesign where they shrink it and make it run more efficiently and lower price.

If I wasn't desperate to get my hands on the shiny, new tech, I'd be waiting too - for a limited edition model or something with double the SSD capacity.

Yea, i definitely know the feeling. Who knows, might just end up with one sooner than I expect for that very reason. But imo it will be mainly determined by exclusives and pricing.

I really doubt we're seeing Ratchet & Clank this year. R&C and Spidey are from the same studio (though presumably from different teams). Given they showed off gameplay, it's probably not a long way off though. 2021 release?

This has been exactly my sentiments for a while now (including not giving a crap about Spiderman). The only game I'm looking forward to right now, is Cyberpunk and Tony Hawk's pro skater remake. My enthusiasm for the SX has waned a little too, because of the Halo delay (even though I totally understand the reason for doing it) and the policy to keep supporting old gen way into the future (which will hold games back)

If any of the platform holders announce any sort of "next gen version or timed exclusive for Cyberpunk", it will sway my purchase immediately.

Don't think either of the next-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk are coming until next year.

Yes, but let's play the hypothetical scenario where say, Sony announce that an timed exclusive next gen version has been locked in for Nov 2021, that means I'll just buy a PS5 in preparation. With this example I mean to highlight not just my own uncertainty about which to go for, but also a comment on how sparse an outlook it is for any games coming out in the next year or so.
