I dunno why but its first time in a long time I am actually interested in a GPU launch. Would be excellent if they both went on sale together.

And me, I reckon when the smoke clears between Oct/November and February latest there will be some very compelling upgrades at £300-700 to be had. And if there are I'm still going to complain;)!

I dont think I will be able to wait till Februrary lol. It will be best value card (if they dont shaft all stack on pricing) or just get a console and forget about PC for a while.

"AMD humiliating both Intel and nVidia"

Why is Nvidia's stock heading to $500, market cap 3 times larger than AMD's?

Why are 90% of the notebooks available with discrete graphics cards all only with GeForces?

AMD is the only company that can offer a semi-custom x86-64 chip for the consoles - there is a monopoly in that segment.

AMD should have launched a 350 sq.mm Navi 10, Navi 10 is a Polaris 10 replacement, not a Vega 10 replacement.

I do hope that Navi 21 will get released this year because there aren't good signs that that will actually happen.

Are you back from holiday?

hAMPEREd 3080 with 10GB vram will be lol worthy if that's true.
I guess for the price you are paying for the color/mem compression.
What ever AMD brings to the table I will pay close attention to the vram offered.
But it looks like consoles are on the menu!!!
Should I go PS5 and hope for the best for xbox games on PC or get an xbox???

Because at the end of the day it's the games I'm looking at. Performance/IQ isn't much of a concern now a days. So these gpu prices will have to be "attractive".

I'm pretty sure I'd go PS5 for the Sony exclusives and play Xbox games on PC, if necessary a bit later. Never had a PS and there are a lot of games I'd like to try.

Go away, 4K, nobody missed you, nobody missed your deluded crying, nobody missed you fixating on all the wrong metrics to validate your baseless and wrong assumptions.

And no ban? I find it incredibly hard to believe that somebody who'd foam at the mouth posting turgid nonsense as often as you would choose to not post for many months.

Well I suspect if it was an RX680 originally,it would have been closer to £250~£300 at launch?? IIRC,the RX5700XT was around £360~£400 at launch,so probably another £60~ £100 on top?? The Navi 10 die,is also relatively small, and close to that of the Polaris GPU used in the RX480.

The thing is I haven't seen such a quiet AMD launch for many years. Maybe as far back as AMD Hawaii or even the HD4000 series.

Nobody is entirely sure, what RDNA2 GPUs are being launched. We all assume there is a 40 CU version, and a 80CU version. But now there is noise about another version in-between that(based on XBox Series X GPU?).

For me,its less about AMD beating Nvidia, and more how they do on the technical level. Is RDNA2 scaling better with more CUs,using memory bandwidth better and more power efficient. If RDNA2 shows decent improvements and gets closer to Nvidia, then at least that means RDNA3 and RDNA4 should be competitive too.

The 5870 and 5850 was very quiet launch hardly any information before launch.

That seems to be the consensus. However, it's shocking to see Sony release any games on the PC.

The 2900 xt was whisper silent. I remember it well. No low rpm fan could top it's release. :D

Also, 52CU is a much smaller than the rumoured 80CU. Could the possible issue be with the scaling?

I'd bank on at least 56CU's for the PC part, they may not se the need for bigger/better (ie Capture 90% and below of the market, leave the big big chips to nV). Imo they should play it smart and leave the big chip/expensive to produce stuff to nV.

Im all game for double the performance of a 5700XT, will suit me nicely. Even if its slightly scaled back to keep power in check with few disabled units. However it need't cost same as two 5700XT's... :D

Well good luck with that. AMD isn't your friend, it's a corporation and its only friend is money.
