Ideas for a new gaming rig please

You offer an overkill PSU, I offer savings.
Outsourced S12III doesn't deserve Seasonic's name to its sticker.
Its quality is below preceeding S12II.
And overall design was low end dozen+ years ago.
So could see it acceptable only for shoestring budget built.

You can offer a better X570 board.
You blame others from wasting budget into no use, yet push motherboard with CPU VRM from about £100 level boards.
Heck, this £85 board has actually same Vcore VRM components as that £190 board:

And for limited budget build there's no reason to go for X570 board, when B550 gives same future proof PCIe v4 for graphics card and equally long CPU support.
For example £155 B550 Aorus Elite has basically same that MSI crushing VRM as X570 Aorus Elite

This we don't know - it's speculation by you. You expect it to be.
But X570 gives better overall user experience - better overclocking, better connectivity, 100% support with Vermeer and probably Warhol.

I wouldn't rely on B550 for anything, I have already said it..

Asus prime x570p @ 164.49

Amd ryzen 9 3900x with wraith prism RGB cooler @ 439.98

The reason I'm going with the nvme SSD is my current system uses sas HDD with a 12gb transfer rate! I did try a sata SSD drive a while back and it was slower than the mechanical drive as sata is limited to 6gb transfer rate and I mean noticeably slower as in windows load up took an extra few minutes!
That's very good price for board with good VRM for any possible AM4 CPU.
Though without great case cooling just be carefull with what kind graphics card you stick there with that 15 year old bad chipset cooler design of Asus:
Actual heatsink under plastic cover is really quite small and relies on constant airflow form cosntantly spinning fan.
With everythting positioned directly under graphics cards and for bathing in their heat...
With Asus being big maker of graphics card would have thought their designers actually testing things with their own products.

Wraith Prism is quite decent for 8 core 3700X and would make really good cooler for 6 core 3600, but for 12 core it's small.
Something like £20 Arctic Freezer 34 would be more fitting starting level cooler for 3900X.

SATA SSD completely trounces any spinning rust.
So there was something wrong in your setup or some setting/software conflict.

Lol the way 4K8K tries to justify his craptastic parts choice is pure comedy. I don’t even bother arguing anymore, just laugh instead :D
