AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

Based on the prices that have been revealed for the 3070 and 3080 I actually think nvidia know something about the performance of AMDs cards, I honestly expected them to be a lot higher and I suspect they would have priced them higher if they knew there wouldn't be any competition...

When is AMD set to actually show case "Big Navi"?

5700XT for over a year has been a bit of a joke tbh. Solid enough card, but it's not a flagship is it.

But it's not like the Nvidia cards are exactly cheap lol?
AMD could quite easily produce their 3080 tier performance card for £600.

The consumer's still getting a bung deal.

Most rumours say before the consoles,ie,before November. So maybe next month??

TBH,I would rather AMD doesn't rush another launch if they have a good GPU!!

I agree, but people only look at relative pricing! :(

Its why Apple can make a £500 iPhone and its "cheap".

Wont knock Jensen for his 3070 pricing.. but is it a sign that the cards aren't inflated again?

+ being faster than a 2080Ti :o

Cheers. I'm skimming when I should be going home so not all information is sinking in properly :p

Just looking at the Quake 2 RTX pure path tracing comparison - the 3080 vs 2080 is around 2x performance uplift in that title - sometimes as much as 3x - so it is definitely an upto 4x - not everything is showing as big an increase as the examples nVidia used.

EDIT: Looks like newer implementations of DLSS is needed to unlock some of that additional performance up lift.

It's 4x as good at rendering marbles, tho. Does that count for nothing? :p

I was just looking at a wider context of RT performance - beyond the nVidia canned results - it is much more varied especially if they don't have newer implementations of DLSS in play.

Glad I'm not the only one looking at the 3070 and thinking, "Hmm, better pricing than I thought, but still not exactly a bargain."

Everyone else is falling over themselves to claim £500 is the kind of money you'd find down your sofa :p
