I will be keeping my water cooled Titan X pascal as backup.
Yeah, if the 1080Ti drops below £200 in used value then I may well just hang onto it as a spare/backup.

And most likely get an alphacool block with rad for the new 3090.
I actually really like the Aorus Extreme version, but not sure I can justify the extra cost over the FE version. Hoping for some reviews before preorders go live.
I'm going to see if my EVGA Supernova 650 G2 will play friendly with the 3080.
I keep thinking maybe wait for Big Navi, but I can't see the 3080 equivalent eating it for same or less price, and quite like Nvidia features.

Niiiice! I’d love to keep my trusty 1080ti, but I will need the extra funds as I also plan on upgrading my CPU/Mobo![]()
Given the uplift on paper of the 3080 over the 3070 nVidia are clearly worried about Big Navi. Im just wondering if the 3080ti will get released when big navi comes out - seems a bit early at this stage. But if big navi is around 3080 level with 16Gb ram could push things along quicker.I keep thinking maybe wait for Big Navi, but I can't see the 3080 equivalent eating it for same or less price, and quite like Nvidia features.
Pricing seems to suggest to me that they're worried about amds offerings which can only be good news for us consumers!
So that's me with a now way overpriced 2080ti
any chance you could find the link?I have the same PSU, and also moving up to the 3080. Someone shared a PSU calculator link on Reddit, and I come out to around 580W if I upgraded. So fingers crossed, we’ll be OK![]()
I can understand why 2080ti owners are feeling a bit sour,
I want to know how much faster clocks are going to be on third party cards as I can't be bothered with manual overclocking/fiddling.
I can understand why 2080ti owners are feeling a bit sour, the value of your card has just taken a huge whack.
But then again.. £1200 is an insane amount of money to pay for a single component, my thoughts on this will never change. You go top tier, you pay the above and beyond price, much like the soon to be owners of the 3090 will be doing. I never have and never will shell out this amount for a GPU.

Lenovo has confirmed that their Legion T7 gaming desktop system will ship with GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards.
Lenovo launches Legion T7 with GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB
Interestingly, Lenovo also confirmed that their Legion T7 system will feature the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti model. This SKU has not been announced or even teased by NVIDIA in any form. Though, it aligns with the rumors that RTX 3070 series will be offered with both 8GB and 16GB memory. What remains unclear is whether the model is really called 3070 Ti or 3070 SUPER, we have heard both names in private conversations with AIBs.
Indeed. But you try talking any sense around here. It has just all gone out of the window.
The only way you will lose your money is selling your GPU. And for what? to buy another one LOL. That's a silly game to be playing. I buy what I can when I can, run it into the ground and then usually give it away. That way I lose what I allowed myself to lose.
3080 will be an overpowered card at 1440p. No doubt. The 2080Ti is already, as I have shown. The 3070 will be the 1440p card. Mostly down to the VRAM, as you can see from my screenshots. I am easily surpassing 8gb just at 1440p with RT on.
Put it this way, none of them are 1080p cards. Those will come later, and I would assume much later.
£600 seems the benchmark EBay used price for a 2080TI right now. Watch it fall.I picked up a 1080Ti for £350 last week (wanted a card whilst off work last week, knew it would tank this week). I would say £275 for 1080ti and £400 for 2080Ti
They put 750watt as recommended minimum to cover themselves for all the low-end PSU's, which in reality can't handle loads at 750w.
A top-end 650watt should be fine![]()
