Niiiice! I’d love to keep my trusty 1080ti, but I will need the extra funds as I also plan on upgrading my CPU/Mobo :D
 
I'm going to see if my EVGA Supernova 650 G2 will play friendly with the 3080.

I keep thinking maybe wait for Big Navi, but I can't see the 3080 equivalent eating it for same or less price, and quite like Nvidia features.

I want to know how much faster clocks are going to be on third party cards as I can't be bothered with manual overclocking/fiddling.

I have the same PSU, and also moving up to the 3080. Someone shared a PSU calculator link on Reddit, and I come out to around 580W if I upgraded. So fingers crossed, we’ll be OK :)

Given the uplift on paper of the 3080 over the 3070 nVidia are clearly worried about Big Navi. Im just wondering if the 3080ti will get released when big navi comes out - seems a bit early at this stage. But if big navi is around 3080 level with 16Gb ram could push things along quicker.
 
So that's me with a now way overpriced 2080ti in the members market lol that 24hr price drop is going tonight is going to be huge :eek::eek::rolleyes::p!

I'm just glad I got mine for an absolute steal in April... what should I be asking for a Aorus Xtreme 2080ti with narrow water block fitted now?

If you watch HU, LTT or GN videos on the subject they all agree that Nvidias pricing has nothing to with AMD.

The 3070 is priced to beat next gen consoles at the same price as those consoles. This is to prevent Nvidia losing customers to Sony and Microsoft which it sees as a bigger competitor than AMD.

The 3080 is priced to make sure all GTX1000 series owners finally upgrade - they are 10s of millions of them who have been waiting for a chance to upgrade.

The 3090 is much cheaper than the previous Titan to entice Titan owners to upgrade as well as to hold top dog position in the performance crown.

This. I dont know why people have such hard time comprehending that it is was overpriced! We are correct in the observation and only a minority try and die on the hill. If you think the price is 'fair' then suck it up, as Jensen has said a £600 card now is the same performance or better, so yes within two years - on this particular flavour - he did mug you.

What remains unclear is whether the model is really called 3070 Ti or 3070 SUPER, we have heard both names in private conversations with AIBs.

All I can say is that there's going to be a lot of early adopter 3080 buyers remorse going around in 6-9mths time when Nvidia release the 3080Ti with 20GB of VRAM...:p

The only way you will lose your money is selling your GPU. And for what? to buy another one LOL. That's a silly game to be playing. I buy what I can when I can, run it into the ground and then usually give it away. That way I lose what I allowed myself to lose.

3080 will be an overpowered card at 1440p. No doubt. The 2080Ti is already, as I have shown. The 3070 will be the 1440p card. Mostly down to the VRAM, as you can see from my screenshots. I am easily surpassing 8gb just at 1440p with RT on.

Put it this way, none of them are 1080p cards. Those will come later, and I would assume much later.
