Is it worth cashing in my 2080ti for a RTX 3080? Use a RTX 2060 in the short term?

I think you need to go back and look at the bench chart so no need to edit my post thanks.

There was no 2070s at launch so only talking about the 2080 and 2080Ti.

Still the 2070 matched the 1080Ti and TXP or was within a few frames. If the 2080Ti matched the 1080Ti no one would have bought it and it would put the likes of the 2080 and 2070 miles behind.

2080Ti had 70% more cudas than 2070 and was about 40% faster in real performance terms.

You need to go back and look at benchmarks, the 2080 matched the 1080TI, the 2070 was below. The 2070 Super was very close to the 1080TI but not quite there
 
Correct 2080 in reality overall matched the 1080Ti (Titan Xp is faster than a 1080Ti) but at launch the benches showed the Titan Xp/1080Ti were equal or faster in some games and slower in other games than the 2080Ti.

That later changed with mature drivers etc.

Even at launch it was well ahead. Saying a 2080Ti matched 1080Ti is simply incorrect. I owned both cards at launch and the Ti was still 30% most games or above especially with an OC and at the higher resolutions. That gap widened with newer games + drivers, dlss etc etc.

I was sure 1080Ti matched 2070 but then again clearly wrong looking at the benchmarks. 2080 seems more appropriate then.

The point i was trying to make was that 1080Ti does not equal 2080Ti. I've had and tested both cards, one reason i sold my 1080Ti in the first place.

Yeah but question is , worth to wait? I only want waterforce version of 3090 rtx. How long to wait? I want WF because of low temps and quiet noise. So when RTX 3090 Aorus Waterforce will be released? I have actually Rtx 2080 Ti Aorus Waterforce and card is excellent due to low temps and noise. No other card i want.
 
Not going to quote a big photo as waste of space esp as its cherry-picked, since when is the 1080Ti a 4k card try 1440p.

I am not going to bother as I know and others will know as the reviews and charts are on this forum somewhere.

Dude, the OP of this thread (which started in June) sold his 2080Ti for £900. He will then be able to buy a RTX 3080 for £700, make a £250 profit AND have more performance. I call that cashing in AND a win.

I did indeed cash in, sold for £900, I shall be grabbing a rtx 3080 day one.... Subject to stock.

It wasn't cherry picked, especially not with 35 games. I chose 4K to allieviate any potential system bottlenecks. Also when the 2080ti was released the 1080ti was a 4K card as there was nothing faster (unless you think the titan v is a gaming card). 1440p results also show you to be misremembering how the 1080ti performed against the 2080ti.

You're not bothering cause there are no charts or reviews. Nobody else 'knows' as you are incorrect.
