3090 is $1500 or £1700

I'd be somewhat sceptical of the "faster than 2080 Ti" bit. Even Nvidia's own marketing graph only had it about 1% higher than the 2080 Ti on the performance axis, and I'd imagine that's when compared to a bone stock 2080 Ti. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2080 Ti proved a little faster overclock versus overclock, though I imagine it'll depend on the game either way. Of course, when it's less than half the price, it still makes the 2080 Ti completely irrelevant (and even more of a joke than it already was). Probably pull a fair bit less power too I'd imagine.

£2080ti might as well go in the bin ! I was hoping to sell my 1080ti lol whats that worth now £300 max ?

Your 1080 ti is 2 generations old so Less then £200 I would say and the market will be flooded with GPUs. Maybe £150

3070 thats faster than a 2080ti and its only $499, whats that £450 GBP?

thats will de-value the £1200 2080ti overnight

No point being salty about it, we all knew the 20 series was overpriced.

That said we usually get 30-40% performance increases for new cards, not 100% and a huge price reduction. Only time I think I've seen a performance jump close to that was the Geforce 2 GTS back in 2000 over the Geforce DDR/SDR.

Excited for new tech but it's completely destroyed the value of all 20 series cards.

I know I will get a least a 3080. I'm tempted by the 3090 but it entirely depends on how much more powerful it is than the 3080.

I suspect the 3070 will be £499 to £550 depending whistles and bells. Even so, that's a huge devaluation.
MESSAGE TO OVERCLOCKERS UK - Offering a free game with a 20 series graphics card purchase ain't going to cut it!

Well that's a lie.

I'm going to wait on the reviews and then pick one up, the 3080 looks pretty good though performance vs cost, the 3090 I'd struggle to justify but i'm tempted to just treat myself and be done with it :D

dont tell anyone your getting a 3090, honestly your gonna get shot for it

Most forum members dislike people buying top end cards at ridiculous prices because they think we buy them for bragging rights and that when we buy them that apparently we are encouraging Nvidia to keep on charging high prices.

Be shoosh about it and pretend that u will wait a year or 2 or that u still run a 1060, then ppl will give u kudos

haha, well I don’t really worry about what keyboard warriors think, we make our buying choices on what we can afford and justify, my upgrade cycle is such that I will get 3- 5 years out of a card so even a top tier card is justifiable. Having said that a 3080 looks to be perfectly adequate for what I need.

Don't really get people complaining about high price of flagship products, just ignore them. They are completely irrelevant to most people. Who cares if there's a £2000 card that push 150 fps at 4k or an £8000 card that'll do it at 8k? It's just irrelevant.

Personally, I completely ignore 4k. Pretend such monitors simply don't exist... Then it's pretty easy to ignore cards like the ~£1500 3090.

I'm also highly dubious about the relative performance. Especially based on one Nvidia pr slide.

They may be equivalent in some situations but I expect the 3070 to be slower than the 2080ti in some games.

The hype Train is approaching max speed but I want to see real reviews and benchmarks before I buy, I don't mind waiting till next year.

Agreed. Best part of 4K is that it makes 1440p gaming cheaper or faster.

Going to wait for reviews but more than likely a 3080 for me, I mean my 1080 still does what I need at 2k so really zero need for me to even look at a 3090
