Ok RTG, you finally responded. Now lets see more of this. Again, waiting until Monday was a horrible idea to provide some sort of marketing to promote better optics for RTG branding.

Again, I don't care if RDNA 2 is faster or slower but from a marketing prospective, do something!

Considering one site is saying this and another is saying the complete opposite, funny how all these alleged "leakers" are somehow getting different "info".

Depends where the source is located.
some may be aib and then some might be within amd framework.

Big Dog Navi will be competitive and priced in the level I want.
Time to upgrade my superb vega56

Who is this RGT guy? :)
Radeon Technology Group created from AMD in 2015. Raja was the one in charge before leaving to go to intel. I believe he was replaced by David Wang and someone else.

However, if you really intended to mean RGT: Red Gaming Tech which is a youtube blogger who discusses gaming Tech and the like. Think of him like Moore's Law Is Dead if you are not into that.

Actually reputable leaks now from Igor's Lab. Seems correct.

Igorslab: Big Navi between 3070 and 3080 with 275W, at 3080 with 300W+ and no AIB cards this year

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpTPzoBWR4Q&t=28s

Igors latest video came up an hour ago and it had some info / rumors on the big navi cards. The written articles in german/english only cover the nvidia part of video for some reason, so if you dont speak german you have to trust me. (Or learn german :D)

The AMD part starts at about 13:40min. According to him Big Navi with 275 watts is somewhere between 3070 and 3080 and possibly with more power consumption (300W+) somewhere around 3080 performance. Big Navi will not be able to attack the 3090. Take this with a lot of salt.

The AIB part starts at 15:10min He says the AIBs do not yet have a bill of material for the Big Navi cards. It takes roughly 3 month from the bill of material to product on the shelfs so every Big Navi card this year will come directly from AMD. He says if there somehow will be AIB cards this year then these will be rush jobs and come around christmas. The guy is very well connected within the industry, so this is as close a confirmation as one can get.

The last thing he said about AMD ist that they delay the Big Navi launch on purpose to the Ryzen launch so the CPU takes the spotlight.

RDNA2 is a step up in both Efficiency & IPC over RDNA1 > Anyone thinking 80CU Navi21 will be competing with 48SM GA104 is insane
Navi21 vs GA102
Navi22 vs GA104
Navi23 vs GA106
There is no way Nvidia would've launched 3080 for 699$ if "Big Navi" was competing with 3070
I've been saying the exact same thing. Although I didn't categorize the skus like that. There is no way Nvidia would price 3080 that low if AMD wasn't competing in the same space. You simply false hoping that Nvidia was simply being generous, which they are not.

This aligns to what most of us (who dont mind buying AMD hardware) have thought considering the low pricing from Jensen. If he had it in the bag like last gen the 3080 would be £200 more. Tweet #2 is also what we have mentioned regarding the console specs beating the 2080 - so not really 'good news', just a confirmation we were right!

Im only hoping the reference cards are quality, although guys on here that bought 5700XT's can refresh me if they were actually ok or not?

This is either a fake or AMD lied.

They said they weren't doing any more blower styles. They said they heard the community loud and clear when the 5700 series was released.

After showing off an exciting graphics roadmap and introducing a new “CNDA” compute-focused GPU architecture that could foretell big changes for Radeon’s gaming capabilities, Radeon chief Scott Herkelman took to the r/amd subreddit to confirm that AMD’s next-gen graphics cards will ditch the company’s long-held blower-style cooler

I never said that at all, and you know it. Stop baiting, it's childish.

So what did you mean by your comment? It felt like you were baiting or belittling DLSS despite its clear advantages when putting into place complex raytracing.
I'd rather embrace and pay credit to good technologies and hope AMD implement them too, rather than be-little them.

AMD have smashed it in the processor segment, and I hope they do it now with their GPU reveal. We need competition and we can't have a repeat of the 20-series price gouge which NVIDIA did shamelessly. At the same time, I didn't understand what you were getting at with your comment which I quoted.

that's another subject and should be more discussed in the dlss thread.
