it looks like the "140mm" fan has 120mm mounting holes. i suspect if you'd want to change the fan, you'd want something like the noctua A-15

You're completely correct according to Alpenthon.
That makes it much less appealing honestly which is a real shame.
It's also a real shame that the response to my Overclockers WebNote asking the same question assured me a 140mm fan would work

well, they weren't wrong per se, a 140mm fan would work (fit)...just not all
