I look forward to your results. If it doesn't fare well will you be getting a second 3090 for sli?I am going to be interested to see if a single 3090 can beat my RTX Titan SLI SOTTR score at 2160p.
That will really show how fast the 3090 is in both Ray Tracing and normal graphics.

Can't see it beating it everywhere. Bound to be some games which shine, and that will be the headline figure people gravitate to. But think 2080ti will hold strong. Especially where memory limits (4k?) get pushed.so seeing as its sooon, how much does everyone think the 3070 will beat the 2080ti at in the hardware unboxed games testing when they run their full list of games. will it be neck and neck or will we actually see say a 10% gain overall when averaged out.
personally im expecting around a 5% win, if its much lower it ends up being in the land of random variances which means its a draw.

Well that was a unrealistic expectation then. How did you even arrive at expecting such a thing? Based on what?I'm not. I was expecting the 3080 to be twice as fast as my 2080 ti

yeah possibly, i was eexpecting that prior to the announcement tbh, with 2nd gen rt and tensor cores. with them saying on reddit it beats its in both raytracing and normal games im expecting a big extra but again not a lot. just enough to say it has beaten it and heres the important point AT STOCK CLOCKS on both cards.
hence i said hardware unboxed's test as they use a silly amount of games an it seems the more balanced of the testers.
Sounds alright to me, around the same performance at raster, but quite a bit faster with RT on, when now, thanks to the consoles coming with RT, every game coming will have it as well now.
Based on Nvidia marketing saying it was twice as fast as the tiWell that was a unrealistic expectation then. How did you even arrive at expecting such a thing? Based on what?
Was the 2080 twice as fast as the 1080Ti? Nope about the same actually. Ok, that's not fair, Turing was a turd, lets go back Pascal which was good. Was 1080 twice as fast as the 980Ti? Nope, no way near. So your comment/thought process on this occasion is very puzzling.
We are actually lucky that Nvidia have some competition this time, or we would not have even got what we got imo.
Link?Based on Nvidia marketing saying it was twice as fast as the ti
Yep, Jonney is confused againThey said the 3080 was up to twice as fast as a 2080, not a 2080ti.

Super cheap? Where? I keep seeing £500+I've been amazed at all the people dumping their 2080ti's for super cheap prices without even any real hard evidence of how fast the new cards are. Some people really are gullible
Me, I'll continue to sit on my 1070 until cold hard facts exist. Then I'll make an informed decision![]()
