NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I mentioned it an earlier post, but I dislike the look of that power cable.

What were Nvidia thinking, placing it there.

The rest of the card looks fine, but that cable placement ruins the overall look.
I agree, the placement spoils the work they put into the aesthetic of the card. But looking at the card on YouTube, you can see they had no where else to place it without messing up the back fan function. I am wondering how the water blocks are going to work on that FE PCB. Some interesting designs will be coming out.

love this lol
NV HQ 2018 buhahahahaha

Me and my mate are already working on making GOOD power connection to FE cards if we wont get OCUK cards :)

3090 isn’t out until the 24th, we should get all reviews Monday no?

No, its only the 3080 FE review out monday, then the AIB on launch day 17th. No idea when we get the 3090 reviews and wheher the FE will be on the Monday again before the 3090 AIB on the 24th.

No upgrade path for 2080Ti owners?

The 3080 offers about as much performance over the 2080Ti you bought two years ago as that card did over the 1080Ti, except at a fraction of the price.

The 2080Ti was the lemon, not the 3080.

All cards are lemons in the eyes of people who have waited for the performance.

1080Ti has lost a lot of value also. I sold mine at 2080Ti launch for £650. Now it’s worth what £200-250?

Ti cost me £1000. Now worth £400? Lost £600. I’d have lost £400-450 if I kept the 1080Ti instead so not bad for 2 years usage.

I hope EVGA and other will provide their own modular 12pin cables.

It's funny how NVIDIA states to only use their's, how will they know if you use something else, like Seasonic's own made for their own PSUs. Following NVIDIAs specs.

When, assuming ocuk will sell FE cards are they just from vendors like Asus etc? Or are they NVidia themselves?

I’m really split between the fe an AIB cards as I never quite know if the nzxt g12 bracket would work on an AIB card.

They already have. Look at JayzTwoCents video he uploaded today, EVGA sent him a 12-pin cable they've come up with.

Corsair already confirmed one too being launched next week. Seasonic have one too.

FE cards are only sold by Nvidia this time round it seems. Retailers are only selling partner cards (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA etc)

Better think how would YOU prove that you used NVIDIA cables when making warranty claim ;)

Make sure you have 24/7 CCTV coverage of all the cables - at least 90 days prior to making warranty claim!

They could have put it virtually anywhere on this back plate.

Having a look at the EVGA site, and forums and nothing for a 12pin there yet. Hopefully soon, since I'll be getting the 3090, it would be nice to get one ahead of time.
