NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I think when they put reviews behind something to me wasn't right maybe I'm wrong though I don't trust any number Nvidia put out after the gimped the 2080 against the 3080.

I mean, the fact that it's their board, architecture, software and branding kinda means it has everything to do with them, so they get to call the shots unfortunately.

China is as China does; their market is big enough for them to do what they want without feeling any repercussions from NDA's.

What I'm trying to say is it's never happened before has it, or am I mistaken and it did with the 2080ti.

Saying it's their card and architecture is 2 things in one, it is their GPU but when they sold bucket loads of boards to AIB manufactures to modify or even make their own boards doesn't make sense, AIB vendors are businessess like Nvidia and need to make sales more so than FE cards.

The only thing I can think of where the retail quantities can't be shown as it ****** of other retailers if they didn't get stock and that has happened before.

They did this with the 2000 series as well. Gibbo did explain this in another thread, but it's pretty much to do with what you mentioned at the end of your comment.

Looks like its hit its power limit not temp issues. Watercooling that card in that review will not get any Bette overclocks.

Will be interested to see what the 400-500W cards can do that AIB are releasing.
Naaa lower temp nerds less volts can get higher clock with same piwer limit. Undervolting OC like Vega I hope

Right didn't know about the 20 series I didn't follow it but yes thought so doesn't surprise me though to be fair.

Well I have never successfully undervolted/overclocked the 2080ti or the Titan Xp before. They both like/need more juice to get max overclock.

AMD seem the masters of that.

My 1080ti FTW3 would overclock next to nothing even when water cooled and below 45c so even lower temps would not increase performance.
Sold it for almost £500 few weeks ago which is more than I paid for it over a year ago.
I do feel sorry for the person who bought it tho.
