AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

I suspect it's because the only people with the money to buy these cards are the older ones that don't play Fortnite. The only kids I know playing it are about 10 years old. I expect the older kids are playing COD.
It wouldn't have quite looked right had there been a giant floating GPU in COD.

AMD in marketing gimmick/fail shocker. It's always amateur hour.
I think that's rather harsh. Raja's marketing was overhyped and a fail full stop. This, even if you like me have a distaste for Fortnite, is a clever way of keeping people interested without confirming or promising anything. If you dislike Fortnite you talk about, if you like the game you talk about it. I mean Nvidia just used Fortnite in their marketing for RT and now AMD is using that to have people check out their GPU and redirecting focus... pretty ******* brilliant

It's funny how offended older enthusiast people seemed to get by this. 79m people play fortnite. What gives old rich dudes any more right to a hardware reveal than anyone else?

I was 14 when I was playing Counter Strike every night. If a geforce map was made in that game id be buzzing.

This strange attitude towards fortnite is pathetic.

I didn't know fort nite players care about graphics or graphics card, rayvtracing in fortnite is stupid

If I was 14 now I'd Extremely excited if I could afford to buy a rx570, never mind anything else AMD makes. 14 year old kids don't usually have lots of disposable income for graphics cards

It's not about kids with disposable income it's about parents with disposable income. Put nickelodeon on your tv and wonder to yourself why are they advertising toys to 4yr olds who aren't working 9-5.

Look at average spends at Christmas on gifts. Its hundreds.

I got all my hardware as a kid by convincing my mother it was more important than it was.

Doesn't make any sense. I used to be on a real buzz at that age for a pc upgrade/new console annoucements.

My nephew is 8 and wants a PC for fortnite, never mind at 14 where kids are much savvier than when we were 14. (assuming your old like myself).

I wouldn't be surprised if AMD release something every day now in the lead up to the 3080 release to try and overshadow it. Something unexpected would be nice, just to see if they can break the internet :D

Really liking that cooler design. The AIBs are going to have to step it up a bit as I'd buy that, first time I've said that about a non-AIB AMD GPU.

They are nuts if they dont and they really do have competition for the 3080. Why wait until everyone has bought a 3080. No many would buy another straight after.

He has a point and kids with PC's usually = rich parents

AMD have genuinely been punked this time. Nvidia have them spanked in the short term.

It is looking increasingly likely AMD will not have many cards actually available until 2021 and even then their only selling point will be more memory than nvidia 3070 and 3080 for similar performance for prices that nvidia have already reduced into their segment.

AMD are going straight for RDNA3, Q3 2021

Might be an idea to let AMD actually release the cards first before being so judgemental?

Do people on this forum even know what the word 'rich' actually means any more? Is it being used simply to describe anyone who isn't poor? Low or Middle-class people with some disposable income to spend on PC's are not 'rich'.

Considering how little cash you can put together a passable PC (second hand), I don't think you have to be rich. But it would need to be Birthday/Christmas type thing.

I think that's oversimplifying things :). They already have the attention of the enthusiasts and this is a way to get the attention of the common folk :p. As a business that is something you always want.

Doom and gloom are easier. It befalls us, humans, very naturally.

I'm not one of these post modern mellenial socialists, I'm gen x, my idea of wealthy is old fashioned

Sony cuts PS5 production forecast by 40%, reported by Bloomberg due to poor yields. TSMC's yields for the SOC is under 50%.

what does this mean for RDNA2? No one is reporting poor yields for the Xbox and that's an even bigger SOC. The only difference is that the PS5 has a much higher clock speeds. Does this mean RDNA2 doesn't support low cost high clock cards?

Oh dear, oh dear. One minute you are up, next minute, you are right back down again. This coupled with AIB not getting any parts does not bode well I must say.

My guess, we won't be seeing Radeon until 2021 sadly in any substantial way.
Best way to get RDNA2 in your house this Christmas is to buy a console.

Lovely looking card though.

Oh look, another account that has been inactive for a decade just to suddenly spur back into action to trash talk AMD...

I can't think of any time in recent history when the word "rich" was officially defined as: "not poor". Seems like you have been mis-using the word your whole life. :p
