NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Dunno, guess it won't and I'll wait for the 6900XT.

I'm more worried about my PSU at the moment though. I have a Corsair HX520W, with the following specs:

Should be OK with a 3080 and a quad core CPU right? The current delivery on the 12V rail is excellent for a 520W PSU.

I certainly wouldnt like to run a 350watt GPU on a 520watt PSU

My 250watt GPU recommends the following

  • Minimum of a 650 Watt power supply.
  • Two available 8-pin or 6+2pin PCIe

Theres no way I'd run the card on that.

What did you do? It's making me put payment details in on the same page.

Did you just fill out the address bits but not the payment bit?

Yeah I filled out my address details, password etc then closed and re opened then go to checkout again log in and your details should be saved.

Can't believe how much OC have put up the prices of the cards since they originally put them on their site.
The MSI I wanted they just put up £80..

They have now pushed me to the founders edition.
Demand is really high, so clearly just trying to make extra money above RRP as they know they can.

I'm sure you're quite correct, but for what actual specific reason would you not run a 3080 on a Corsair HX520W, given those specs?

Add up the power draw on your CPU at full load, hard drives, fans and anything else. If it gets close to 520watt then bad times!

I have blown up a GPU and PSU (many) years ago when I was using an underpowered PSU. Didnt make that mistake of skimping on PSU cost again!!

Actually, I think you should use it and run timespy extreme then video it for us :D

Nah, even if it is 5% better people will still buy. This is Nvidia we are talking about, not AMD :p

Nvidia make people desire their cards and want the latest, so it will still sell fast even if **** poor reviews relative to what was shown by Nvidia in their presentation.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong - these'll sell for sure. But I'm a bit wary of the rasterization performance rather than the uplift in DLSS performance for the games chosen by Nvidia to show in their launch.

Still want to see the 3090 reviews but I think I'll wait for the card at the £1000 bracket (3080ti).

My PSU is 450w continuous (8 months old) and 36a on the 12v rail.

If I drop my 4790k to stock, surely I’ll be fine to run a 3070 on it...won’t I?

480W is pushing it.

Depends on your CPU really. What is that?

If your GPU is using 300-350W then it doesn't leave much left over for the rest of the components requiring 12v.
