So, decided on a 3080? Which manufacturer and why?

People should realise even OCUK had a tiny amount of cards and the demand couldn't satisfy 99% of people ordering. Its a big fail. Being honest and saying stocks were low and there will a long wait would have been far better than having 99% thier customers getting peeved off. Sad times.

I had one in my basket at £649 ready to go. Then it was timeout, timeout, timeout, £698. No thanks.

Yup exactly the same thing happened to me. Even tried to pay at £649 and had the payment decline only to go back to the basket and see the price jacked up. Thats a no from me OcUK

Would be nice if they even said if those of us who ordered within first 30min (cause I have no idea how people managed to get orders in within first 5) have even a chance of getting a card

I'm going to wait to see what AMD pull out the bag.
Might even skip the GPUs, keep my 2070s and go zen3.

It's a disaster. It's a situation than cannot be undone. People will rage on and time will pass. It'll happen again with the consoles. It'll be worse.

Wow! You managed to bag one but you are so angry with NVidia that you are going to cancel and wait for AMD because?

I was just frustrated and a bit angry after spending a day off work to be met by out of stock before 2pm and no notification until after 3pm by Nvidia. Also spending hours trying to refresh ocuk then suddenly it works and the website signs me out then back in and the order goes through on a completely different account and instead of £649 it's £709 with £10+ delivery haha come on, I nearly threw my phone out the window.

Ahhhh frustration I understand. Been there and done that. I have taken days off work for delivery of PC parts, only to not get the delivery and my rage levels hit the roof. I feel your pain Brother!

Got one of these from Loch Ness Computers, must admit I don;t fancy my chances of ever seeing it delivered..

Managed to order a Ventus yesterday at 14:33 for £650 which is nice seeing as it's now £710

Just a question of when I will get it.?

Mine turned up this morning, MSI Gaming X Trio, for £745 plus delivery, and I have to say IMO better than reviewed.
Reviews were saying 72 under full load but near silent.
Near silent is right, my case fans are louder when they spin up from mobo temp while gaming, and they aren't in any way loud !
Even better is after 20 mins with Kombuster/furmark my core peaks at 64 degrees with everything left stock, and the card sits on pretty much 1950 core clock.
At that the GPU fans were around 50% speed, they start getting noticeable at around 65% up, definitely very audible at 100% but even then its a whoosh no whine or owt.
TBH apart from manual override, I dont think they would normally go near that !
Ambient in case temp raises by 10-11 degrees when card is being stressed.
So a happy camper here :)

I do feel the drivers are a bit green, had one error which pointed their way according to whocrashed, but it did also point to my AV. Thats probably to be expected and will likely get ironed out in due course.

Thanks for the heads up, I am waiting for mine

Oh one other thing, the light bar is a bit naff, so I turned mine off but left on the logo and fan stripes.
Not that I like a disco, but I set the logo a nice always on/non effect green to go with the mobo rgb, but I wont see it when my PC is in place, just a glow on the wall :p
You will need the latest MSI Dragon Centre software to alter that, but that also registers you card for warranty too :)
After I did what I wanted, I disabled it from the windows start menu.
The bar will come on on boot (to whatever colour you set), but go off after a few secs.

Does any one know if the free game and nvidia experience thing was retailer specific, or applies to all new RTX3080 purchases, and if so how do I get it ?
Cheers :)

{Edit} I found the answer, Retailer specfic.
