I thought that was US only?
Ah, didn't know that.

I've not preordered a console online with them but when I've preordered games, more often than not I receive it the day after release day.
Interesting. I might email them nearer the time and see if I can do the old midnight pickup thing instead then. Take some beers for the queue and make a night of it.

Watch out with Very, they're a bunch of muppets.

I've had them cancel orders on BNPL the day before they're do to ship because 'their underwriters have made a decision not to accept the order' - my credit report is as close to flawless as you can get.

Also with the BNPL stuff make sure you've cleared the full balance before the interest free period expired. I stupidly assumed you'd only play interest on the bit outstanding, instead they hit me with a 40% interest charge on the full purchase which was significantly more.
Ouch thanks mate

Yep, was charged £1 deposit.

Yeah spoke to them earlier, £1 deposit so they dont tie up people's money, once the first stock arrives they'll email people in order to pay the outstanding amount. They know people will have pre-orders elsewhere so if I got a launch model from Amazon, I could cancel the Box one and get a refund for the quid, apparently they'll give me a chance to pay the full amount if I'm one of the first batch before moving the order onto the next person. Fingers crossed.

I've never had an issue in 6 years of pre-ordering all the console releases including limited editions (like the PS4 500 million).

If you're worried about getting charged and it being cancelled then use BNPL.
Ive opted for Amazon, I got it from there.

I'm glad very been okay for you however I just don't trust them or there crap customer service in my case.

Again though I guess it's same for every retailer as not every one will have good experience

I was a bit worried for a second but after logging in my account I can see the two purchases I have made with the timelines I have to pay them off. This December and next September. Think you must have cocked up laddy to get charged the 39% interest!

My muppets comment was more on some backwards underwriting decision around not offering me BNPL, despite having >£40k available credit, less than 2% credit utilization and a flawless payment history. This decision taken 3 weeks after I'd placed the pre-order and the day before it was supposed to ship.

The other part was just a warning, and I got caught by that once for which I accept responsibility.
Sorry I'm confused, how did you pre order? You have to choose your payment type (CC, BNPL etc) when you order but you say the decision was taken 3 weeks after you ordered, did they retract the BNPL you ordered with?

Yes their customer service isn't the best but I've had no issues with items arriving, they arrive direct from the distributor and it's the same one I've received orders from Game and Shopto in the past, in fact I got two 500 million PS4 consoles from Very when the rest of the UK was out of stock.

BNPL is great credit rating builder as long as you pay it off before the 12 month period ends.

Spent a while typing a long post explaining it in detail, and decided quicker is often better.

Yes, I was an existing Very customer for a number of years with zero issues, and they retracted the BNPL that they had confirmed acceptance of the day before shipping was due.

Got you, they cancelled the order so of course cancelled the BNPL, it initially read that they decided to just pull the offer of BNPL without reason.

No, it was specifically them cancelling the BNPL after acceptance but before the order shipped. Anyway, probably enough on this now as its not really PS5 related!
