You do that. More uber reliable Jap 4 cylinders for the rest of us. :D

Though I am hankering for another V8 at the mo... I miss my LS400... Even though it went wrong all the time... :( :p

At least they recall for engine faults and not ignore them like most :p

E.g. The bore scoring issues which plagued Porsche engines. They pretend it doesnt happen because its expensive to fix. Likewise high oil consumption on some VW engines.

And bearing wear on BMW engines, leading to catastrophic engine failure. Yknow, the 8 and 10 cylinder ones. :p

Not irony at all. Coincidence. I like cars with all sorts of cylinder configurations. :p

sorry for the late update the 2nd car which I was recommended to see did not impress. Was overall very tired and laggy. Felt like an old car and some in appearance and driving. As I did not have any other reference to compare too I walked away. Need to view more
 
My 30 year old car doesn't feel tired or laggy, thats not necessarily synonymous with an old car, you need some more adjectives. :p

Which one are we talking about? And what other similar cars have you driven for a frame of reference?

With the greatest respect you've not driven a new version of it so how would you know? I remember posting on here about how box fresh my 120k mile Mondeo felt. I've subsequently driven a large number of actual box fresh cars and it's hilarious how wrong I was.

My point was mainly that old doesn't necessarily mean tired and laggy. I wouldn't say my car feels laggy. Its fairly spritely.

As for if it feels tired, I guess it depends what you mean by tired. I took it to mean "worn out", and it doesn't feel worn out really because despite appearances, every degraded suspension component and rubber doodad has been replaced. It does feel old and severely outdated though of course, because it is! I guess tired can also mean those things.

Lol most of the time older cars feel better if anything. It's electronic controls which made things feel numb and imprecise.

The suspension was a bit wobbly back in the day, but you can upgrade that.

this was the one someone on here recommended I see. My reference would not be valid as I have only driven new cars (1-2 years old) , just was not sure if it was a good example

Lexus I250s are very well made cars, but like every other car they need to be looked after and serviced. I can only assume the 2nd one was not in the best of health? I picked out that as it had Mark Levinson sound system and adaptive HID lights... there is no reason NOT to get a Lexus without these features 2nd hand, they were very desirable add on's when new.

I don't know how your automotive knowledge is but I would go back to the drawing board and maybe take a mechanic with you and look at some more, mileage is not an issue on these cars once they are serviced.

The IS250 F Sport Auto is a very nice car also but you will pay more
