As someone who pre ordered with another retailer in Germany, should I contact their support and cancel it? It has not yet hit the dispatch stage.
But worse than an FE card
Heh, never good when the first thing you see is the number of bits missing off the PCB.Check out Buildzoid's review of the Trinity PCB.
Hint, it ain't pretty.
OK he has cancelled my order, what card should I go with now?

Lot of fuss over nothing. If you want a good overclocker than buy their amp extreme series. This card is fine for a base reference card, and its a damn sight quieter than the FE card.
So its not a big deal they artificially gimped it to make their other offerings look stronger?
the TUF range seems to have reviewed well. Cooler and faster than FEOK he has cancelled my order, what card should I go with now?
Indeed the evga ftw with the power pins and using 400w only out performed the the Asus tuf none oc card by 2%.Check out the Hardware Unboxed review of the MSI Trio. They say the 3x8 pin makes seemingly zero difference to the (lack of) OC potential in that card.
Maybe other AIBs might fare better and make use of the 3x8.

the fact that the 3080 FE is already at or very close to the power limits and the fact the FE has a beefy cooler seems to be lost on people.Isn't it common knowledge by now that this generation the FE cards are setting the benchmark? Why bother with a slower card with an arguably worse cooler unless you want to keep for the full 5 year warranty term?
