It's possible that the order numbers are generated when the payment is processed, and are not an indication of your actual position in the queue. I doubt "first come first serve" would look at order numbers over the date of when the orders
Perhaps yea, normally who would really care but when the difference with the only tool we have right now to get any kind of data from has a difference of around 1000 or to put it another way 100% or twice as far down the queue based on what we do know, when my order was put through first ...that might make quite a big difference, perhaps not we just don’t know really but I like to know where I’m at before I’m there so to speak so I dislike the uncertainty right now. Still nothing to be done but wait.

For real? Why do I need to wait so long for an email? What is this? Should it not be automated and why order from email conf will be different from one on account anyway? Two order numbers? What is this?
Yeah seen some people in the last few hours only just got their emails,
My only answer is there is a massive backlog, over 13000 orders i believe in the first 24 hours, and counting,
And sorry i dont know why there are two separate number

As I posted a little earlier (link) I have similar results with my MSI order, "Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:16:50", order number 58738xx, which the calculator puts me at 2651 (which based on the totals estimates on the spreadsheet I think means my order number was generated when the email was sent, not even when my payment was synced with the online store sometime between when I last looked Saturday and first looked Sunday morning).

Hopefully OC are using the Date ordered data they also clearly have (since it is also in the email), and if so (@Gibbo can you let us know what data you are usinbg for determining who is "First come, first served"?) the calculator should either be shifted to use that, or just have a warning that in such cases it is very inaccurate.

edit: ignore me, a 587 order number indeed doesn’t seem right for that date

Yea I was one of them, which probably plays into what we were saying about how your order number relates, it’s probably not generated until the email is generated, even behind the scenes when you have an OC number.

Based on user submissions all order numbers from the 17th of September were starting with 586. Orders didn't reach 587 until the next day. Can you double check both the date as well as the order number in case you miswrote either one of them

The order number everyone has been using from the email, seemed to line up perfectly with the time the order was placed, even if the email was sent hours after,
So someone at 2:01 order number in the email was slightly higher than someone at 2:00 for example, and so on, its the best reference point we have until the official one is out,
Even then it really just relies on what cards come when and how many, and how many people ordered that particular card.

Aw man got all excited as soon as I seen an email in my inbox from OC then it was just an order received email I wanna cry that took A few days to come through. Which is weird as I got an order update with the delay and out of stock info like 3 days ago
