a lot of people are upgrading to play it as CDPR have not yet released a disappointing game, and its been in development for 7+ years. They usually put a lot of effort into the PC versions too pushing graphics, recommended 1060 6gb is most likely for 1080p medium 30fps.

I was sitting on hovercraft wishing the pilot to hurry up so I could get a signal to watch the launch. Why a Hovercraft? The 1st of Sept was my 50th. When I heard the price I knew what I was getting this year. So my question...... Am I too late to order the RTX 7080 for delivery in 2030?

On a serious note. I knew the chances of being a "Charlie Bucket" and getting the golden ticket was hopeful at best. Not sure if anyone follows Moores law on YT but he described this exact scenario about 3 weeks ago on his podcast. Even down to the mass availabilty mid October.

I am prepared to wait, gives me more time to chase the tax rebate to payback my partner for the loan of funds for the card.

Yeah, a 1060 really isn't going to run Cyberpunk at max settings, 1440p. That's probably a 1080p60 guideline at most

That's for 1080p, 1440p and 4K sys reqs are yet to be released.

Even at 1440p or 4k can't see you need a 3080. 1080ti should easily do 1440p and Rtx2070/2080 for Ray Tracing.

Same , logged in at 2 , multiple payment failures, finally got it through at 16:30, but its a tuf , so expecting a bit of a wait.

On a happier note I got a an x box series x ordered this morning.

Incidently, the tuf was showing an eta of 22nd sept, when I ordered it.....

Personally if your gonna buy a console, I'd get a PS5. PC + PS5 pretty much covers all bases. There's too much cross over between a PC and an XBOX.

True. At this rate I'm just thinking 3090 or wait until things settle. Had I not sold my GPU early (life lesson there), then I would have just given up and waited. I really hated how loud the 2080ti FE was though which was partly why I wanted to dump it early

Highly doubt a 2080 will hit 1440/60/Ultra with RT on. Thats now 3060 class performance.

4K ray tracing performance on the 2080ti was pretty garbage in my experience

I am as overwhelmingly excited for Cyberpunk as the next person, but it well doesn’t seem all that impressive from a technical graphical standpoint, and it’s been in development for like 8 years. The art style is insane but I don’t think it’s gonna be close to one of the better looking games out there from the videos they’ve shown really, I feel like older cards will handle it just fine

They’re not manufactured here though, so biggest risk would be a lockdown in China - but they seem to be over it all now they’ve having raves the lot over in Wuhan

Fat chance. Although fewer people want or are prepared to pay for a 3090, they are even scarcer than the 3080s. Remember, 3080s are just failed 3090 chips and I reckon the failure rate is high.

So for every ten 3080 card available there might only be one 3090.

Ah DLSS is what you are missing,. Its the way forward (apparently). Even the mighty 3080 is useless at ray tracing without the help of DLSS (by useless, its not that much better than a 2080ti, maybe up to 20% so if you think its poor on a 2080ti then you still think its poor on a 3080)
