Good to hear. By the time my 3080 arrives there maybe a firmware fix issued.

He didnt specify but he said they only have a few models in stock and they only have single digits. So I was guessing 6. He might have 9. ;)

And hes not saying which models have stock. Everything will be pre order but a few very lucky people will actually get their cards next day.

Most lost jobs are low-paid jobs in retail and service industries... many people who would buy a GPU of the 3080 class are still employed and have cash.

Also can you please let us know how you know that the 3090 will be widely available?

Indeed mate, government aint handing you free money without a way of getting it back whether its through higher taxes and interest rates or cutbacks in the long run. I see a lot of unemployment coming, like those early 80's when mortgage rates were nearly 20%!

Indeed. At the numbers if 3090 cards Gibbo has hinted at as being available then I think that there are about 50 times more 3080s than there are 3090s available.

So if he thinks that the 3090s will be widely available then he must think there is a glut of supply of 3080s!
 
Anyone get an order in just after midnight at the place which jumped the gun and took orders? For my order at 00:13 my order status just changed to "Your order is being processed and payment has been taken successfully. This means your order is moving through our warehouse and will soon be passed over to our couriers for delivery."

Looking on the order page the option to cancel is now gone so I would guess they've assigned stock to me and it will arrive tomorrow/day after I suppose. I ordered the MSI Ventus.

And the tech sector for gaming is a luxury product so be the first thing people would stop buying. The UK is about to go into another major lockdown.

Its what stopped me eating more into my spare cash to get a 3090, would rather be on the safer side with regards to savings in these uncertain times.

I had my order process 1 more step on my ventus as well, the other night, but its still listed as order received - not yet shipped in the account page. Given when mine went through at 16:00 on launch day i sorta suspect it's still going to be ages.

Big mistake. Given the size and heft of the 3090, you could have used it as weapon against the masked zombies in the Covid-round-2 apocalypse!

On the status page it now says: "Processing Order." Until today the status was like yours where it said "Order received - not yet shipped" I think. Or maybe there was a status in between that and this, can't remember.

In fairness a lot of the 3080 burst demand was due to it costing half what a 2080ti does while performing more than 50% better at mining.

Don't worry it'll only be the poor who'll be paying the taxes. For the rest its 3090's all round!

Very true, around £600 is a very affordable amount these days if you think about it. If you can afford an ipad you can definitely afford a 3080...

No, a lot of jobs in the blue collar higher class has been lost.

Many of these jobs rely on the lower class etc.

Everything has been affected.

Its absolutely mental out there and it's going to get worse.

600 quid could pay for your rent for one month or mortgage.

When **** hits the fan, watch many expensive stuff go up for sale as they struggle to make ends meet
